if you dont know the layout of the map very well your flashlight goes off after you take forever. then you have to look at him to get the static on your screen which also lights the world a bit

Thank you, I was just about to comment the same thing. The game's horribly programmed and optimized, fails to scare anyone who's not deathly afraid of loud noises, and is as you say one of the most overrated games there are. "OOOH SCARY NOTES" might work in Marble Hornets (it does), but not in this game.

Honestly, SCP: Containment Breach is a far better game, and that game doesn't even have a finish objective yet.

As a tangent on scary notes: They work very well if you actually build up a story beforehand. Like, if there's a REASON behind the notes. I actually based a 2-year old horror roleplaying campaign on Slenderman/Marble Hornets, and I created over 30 different scrap notes that I handed to my players and had them piece by piece decipher them. It worked great and built up a very creepy atmosphere. In Slender? You just find some shit drawing stapled to a rock. FUCKING REVOLUTIONARY.
