This is a true story a friend of my dads told me one day. not super morbid but it scared the crap outta me. can you imagine?
I'd been having a really bad day. I am an actor. not the glorious award winning kind the fill-in a crow type. I've been doing it for almost thirty years now. but today sucked. we were shooting in the country-side. It was hot as hell and i had a headache. i get them often and was willing to ignore it but by the fifth hour of shear pain i needed to do something! we aren't allowed to medicate on set for obvious reasons even if it's just some ibuprofen or an Aspirin, So i went over to a friend and asked for a head massage. she complied and i left feeling much better. i was happy and about to step on set for my role when i heard this weird loud yet muffled POP sound. i looked around to see if anyone else had heard it but no one was acting like they had. and then something happened that let me know something was terribly wrong. it felt like someone was slowly pouring warm water down the back of my head and i got light headed and dizzy and vertigo all at the same time. I walked to my car knowing i needed to get to the hospital NOW and called my son who was a paramedic. turns out i had an aneurism. my son diagnosed it while i was on the phone with him. i made it to the hospital fine but if he hadn't told me how i wouldn't have gotten help in time. hell the nurse didn't even look at me until i said "hello, miss? i'm sorry but i don't get headaches but this is the worst headache i have ever had." i guess it's some sort of code or something. any way i could have died that day. not super scary but walking around every day knowing i heard my own blood vessel pop is, disturbing. i'll never get that sound out of my head. it still wakes me up at night.
