The "limit" of two sentences is pointless as far as the English language goes, since sentences can be any length (before someone says "run-ons", those only occur when the sentence doesn't have proper commas/semicolons/etc). I would suggest for the creator (which I believe is OP) to limit themselves akin to six-word stories, something more quantitatively measurable in the English language, otherwise there's no point.
Also, the creator of these needs to learn how to be ******* blunt.
The second one, for Christ's sake, can become this: "Emily found an ornate( I would replace with odd, or mysterious, etc.) book on top of the library bookshelf. Opening it, she was greeted by the teeth of a mimic."
That's 22 words, vs. 49 originally. You can take out half the ******* words, AND it sounds better (ending on the word "mimic", specifically).

Two sentence story.

John went to the shop to get some milk but the shop didn't have any milk! So John quite rightly kicked the **** off and slapped that gobby shop keeper right across the back of his stupid milk-less bald head but then got arrested for assault.

I hate this **** , making a story in two sentences is not ******* hard.

Damn it, I still suck, no matter what I do.
