Toe Juice

Here is my toe all ****** up! It was crushed under the falling pressure of a 55 pound dumbbell.

Went to the hospital where they proceeded to freeze it. ( a needle went between my big toe and index toe in the webbing, as well as under, on top and to the side of my big toe.) After letting the freezing settle in the Doctor took a pair of scissors and shoved them under my nail to release the pressure. While the closed pair of scissors where under my nail he opened them to cut all the connective tissues that hold your nail to your toe. Finally he slides my toe nail as a whole out of its bed with a pair of tweezers inspects my toe and then slides it back into the hole it came from. My toe was so shattered that leaving the dead toe nail in would help keep my toes "natural" shape.

One thing that will relieve all the pain (after the initial burning agony): Take a drill with one of the smallest drills (or whatever it's called), and drill it through ur nail and slightly more, so you break the tissue, and all of the blood will poor out there.
Tested several times.. unfortunately.

I've done that...my big toe got infected and swelled up. My toenail came off and never healed properly, now my big toe nail looks like an Elephants toe nail.

Hey dude,

I actually had a similar scenario happen to me last summer... While landscaping I dropped a huge rock on my toe while trying to put it on a dolly. The doctor didn't do much to it, but he just left the toenail there half attached... I would've much rather had it be off because it's a bitch and a half to still have it and get it caught on things. But it's been almost half a year and the nail is half grown back now.

Something similar happened to me with a 45lbs olympic plate, but it wasn't that severe. Don't think I had a broken bone, but never went to the doctor. All I did was sterilize a needle and drain the pocket myself from under the nail.

It's nasty when it happens, I had to drain it a few times, and it was very dark, almost black blood every time. I feel for you dude. I had trouble walking for a couple weeks.
