This shit freaked me out

When I was young, I played on the gamecube and i was waiting eagerly for a game to load and there's a colorful background and music and stuff and its like "BADUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBADUMBUM---" And then a black screen that says that the disk is scratched. It made my heart stop for a second.

I lost Super Mario Sunshine, beat Luigi's Mansion, and the disk I scratched up was a game called "Ty the Tasmanian Tiger".

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was my fav :(. It's gooooooone foreeeeveeer... :(

Unfortunately, Thousand Year Door works pretty horribly through emulation. The sound (which brings the game from good status to amazing status) flickers constantly, and if you put too much emphasis on improving the sound settings, the graphics will lag on pretty much any computer setup.
If anyone has any tips, though, I'd love to hear them. Paper Mario: TTYD is the only game I've ever owned where I literally have no idea how I lost it ಠ_ಠ

Corrupts it? I've taken LeafGreen out of my GBA thousands of times though and it never got corrupted. =

Something similar happened to me. I had Advance Wars DS, and I was stuck on the last mission. My friend asks to borrow it, and I say "sure, but use the second or third file, because I'm using the first." Guess what happens! Her little brother saves over the first file where I was pretty sure that I had Von Bolt (final boss) on the ropes. Pic VERY much related.

After looking at it, I realized that with a little handywork, one could set up a secondary parallel battery while changing the main battery in order to avoid losing the game data.
