not gunna lie, kinda scared me. only because i have a similar experience.
got a hotel room with my girlfriend. cheap place. wanted to have somewhere to watch season 4 of sons of anarchy and..well you can imagine what 2 teens were up to. any way, i start having weird dreams. being chased by idk what, just knowing that if i stop i would be caught. i didn't know what that meant nor was i going to find out. everything was so vague, unfamiliar, and completely blurry. finally i trip and wake up. only, i'm not in my own bed. i quickly remember that im in a hotel room. my arm around my girlfriend. she started to slip a little bit further away. more and more. now im not touching her, but still in the same bed and still awake (so i thought). then i look behind me. and there is something standing next to the bed. i don't see a face so i assume they are facing the other way. i turn back over and i lay as still as i can. then it starts to reach over me. not touching me, but leaning way over and hovering above me as if trying to grab her from me.. keep in mind, i literally think i am awake. everything is as vivid and feels as normal as usual, except in the pit of my stomach. i try to yell to wake her up. to protect her. but i'm paralyzed with fear. i cant move. i cant yell. when i try nothing happens ans i cant figure out why. i keep trying as it gets closer and closer to her. still reaching over me and me being completely helpless. i then just opened my eyes, like i thought i already had done.

I had a nightmare once that me and my dad were walking along some cliffs near where I live and suddenly he feel. He managed to grab a rock as he fell and I spent several minutes trying to lift him but couldn't (I was only like 8 when I had this dream so I probably knew I wouldnt be able to lift him in real life). The whole time this had been happening he was reasonably calm and trying tell me everything would be all right but suddenly there was this look of this absolute terror on his face which I had never seen before in my life. He looked over his shoulder and there was a huge tidal wave coming towards us. My dad tried to get me to let go of him and run but I was frozen. When the wave hit us I couldnt breathe and then I woke up gasping for air and crying my eyes out. I was on sleep medication for like a month after that cos I was terrified to go to sleep.

welcome to my nightmares, this is only the start, soon you'll feel everything in them, not just yourself being harmed but also others and things in the environment around in your dreams, you'll also feel their emotions as well, their suffering, pain and misery will fill you with a desire to never sleep again...

majority of my childhood: for some strange reason when i was younger, i would have nightmares every other night, well as you know that's all fine and dandy, but **** started getting weird when the nightmares began affecting me physically, i can't say that i was ever caught by any of the monsters of my imagination, but during the nightmares, i could feel the presence of their evil, when i awoke, there would be a very distinct, almost indescribable feeling in my stomach, my like organs were being (thoroughly) churned, also, for the last few seconds of the nightmares, i couldn't breath until i woke up, which lead to me almost suffocating in my sleep multiple times. along with that my mom tells me that i used to be able to ghosts as a child, now me being a reasonable human being i can't say that i recall any of these instances, but she says that i would tell her vivid descriptions of the man haunting me, which according to her, fit her deceased father perfectly, color of clothing and all, and lastly, a bit after i grew out of the nightmare ghost phase, one day i decided to look in the mirror and tell myself that i am me, and the person in the mirror is myself, after a few minutes of this, things got really weird, i became hyperconcious of my existence, as if though beforehand i were an outside specter looking in, but from this moment forward, i felt as if though i were trapped in my eyes, the feeling is almost maddening, and if you manage to preoccupy your mind, it will eventually go away, i try to avoid mirrors these days, if i look at one for too the long the feeling will come back, i recommend that none of you guys try this, seriously, it's just not something you can forget
tl;dr version: my childhood was pretty weird >.>

My dream last night. I don't know why it messed with me, but it did.

Dreams starts out with me and old man, my uncle, talking. Girlfriend shows up, we go for a walk in the woods. Find this old cabin, and go inside of it, just chilling, talking. Starts to get creepy. At some point, all the doors had disappeared, and only one window left. Room starts filling with water, is almost up to our necks. Window won't break. Notice i can breathe, but girlfriend is drowning. Freaking out, crying, trying to find some way to save her. Suddenly third person view, and she's the one crying and I'm strangling her. Finally she dies. Freak out and run away, happen to find uncle on the road driving by. Noticeably shaken, he somehow knows what happened. Getting in the truck, look back

There she is, on the side of the road. So dark/hazy, almost looks like a shadow. Eyes eerie yellow color. Just smiles at me, then sprints across the road into the woods.

More coming

Many people experience pain whilst dreaming, its a mental thing. I for example have terrible night mares every night where I am brutally tortured, skinning, organ removal, bloody eagle, all that good stuff, and I can feel the pain. Now note that the pain is no where as close to as much as it would be in real life but you can still feel it. There really isn't much that you can do about it.

Reminds me of the time I had a dream where I talked to a possessed TV. The only thing that makes it worth mentioning is that it babbled at me with a hundred thousand voices in every language from every age. Whenever they all tried to shout at me like that, it caused body-wracking pain to shoot out of my jaw, made my vision go white, and I would temporarily lose hearing. Eventually, I convinced it to use only three voices, which brought the pain down to a painful throb at every word. And then, sometimes, it would just scream at me if I upset it. That was not fun at all.

I had a dream once when I was five.

The entire world was filled with cardboard cutouts of people. My mom, my dad, my brothers and sisters, friends and people I didn't know were all cardboard cutouts that moved and talked. Only I was real, 3D and made of flesh. If I recall correctly, a lot of the cardboard figures were grinning and laughing.

Suddenly one caught fire, and slowly the next, until they all were on fire. The laughing had turned to screaming and sobbing. And huddled in the middle, my hands on my ears, knees curled to my chest was me, trying to block it all out.

And then I woke up in that position. Didn't go back to sleep, just sat there... Welcome to my childhood, FJ.

I had a similar dream: I woke up in my bed, and I knew instantly that it was a dream. I looked over at my alarm clock to confirm it (numbers and letters change everytime you look at something in a dream, in this case my alarm clock was going about a minute a second), and I felt a presence behind me. Something malicious, fear-inducing. I did not dare turn around. Instead, a sat on my bed staring fearfully into my alarm clock for what was effectively hours in my dream. Without warning, I felt claws dig into my back and drag themselves downwards through my flesh. I have never felt such sharp, acute pain in my life. I woke up instantly. Of course, with time, the pain seemed to become more numbing than anything, but in the dream, the pain was absolutely real.

One night I had a dream (or nightmare) where I was a simple farmer in the medieval ages. It was close to dawn; fog still around. I was walking around a wheat field when I noticed some knights from what appeared to be an enemy kingdom. They were holding torches and running down a road to where the town was. As I spotted them I turned to run, the wheat weighing me down. As soon as I turned and began to take my steps I felt a sharp pain through my neck. It was an arrow, and I could see it sticking out of my neck. As I fell to the ground I woke up with a sore neck.

A recurring nightmare I had as a child started to happen after my mom died. When the mortician came to take her body away, in real life, he made sure that she had passed. I'm pretty sure it's illegal not to do so. I was present when she died and when her body was taken away. In my dream, the mortician didn't check. I saw her chest rise and fall. I kept telling my grandpa "Paw-Paw, Mommy's not gone, she's breathing!" but he would respond with "She is gone, stop it." and eventually I was dragged out of her bedroom, yelling and screaming and crying that she was still alive; while I was dragged out, my mom was being put in a body bag. Then it flashes to a cremation furnace. My mom is inside, struggling very weakly and shrieking loudly as she is cremated. I would wake up at that point because my body would feel like it was being burned.

Your sleeping mind puts together memories from the day while you're sleeping, and tries to make a story to cover up all the rememberance bull.
If something happens to your body while you're sleeping, you're probably going to dream about it too. You probably just banged your head.
It also explains as to why I had pissed the bed when I was a kid. I dreamed I was pissing out the back of an airplane.
