I forget what it's called, but you can actually absorb your twin in the womb.

Just wanted to say... I was supposed to have a twin. She died in the womb, but never came out. I absorbed her completely. There's some odd side effects. I'm male, but I have a medical issue that only impacts women. I also have ONE ovary. No uterus, just one ovary that formed from the same gamete as the testes.
As a result, my genetics are XXY. Not the typical XY.

I was a twin. At like two months the other twin died and I like ate it for nutrients...(that's what the hospital/my mom says)

i'm a cannibal.

Absorption of twins in the womb is actually quite common, something like 1 out of 8 people have absorbed a twin. Chimera's are thought to be the cause of like homosexuality (e.g. you are a male, female faternal twin, you absorb her, her stem cells are used to build part of your brain, that part of your brain makes you like dick.)

A term for someone that absorbed another in the uterus is Chimera, much like the mythical beast. I have a friend that is a chimera.

Most people actually start out as twins very early on in the pregnancy, and usually the 'healthier' fetus survives while the other one dies and gets absorbed for nutrients or just pushed to the side. So chances are, a lot of us, including me, may have been a twin very early on in our mother's pregnancy and we never would have known

Twins run in my family.. I had one, but my mother went to a Metallica concert and in the middle of it she started bleeding.. went to the hospital and doctors told her she lost one of us -_-
It just makes me think, "Of course he would ******* choose to die at a Metallica concert, the asshole."
I haven't done any research on it, but it makes me think about how, if your a twin, and one of them dies in the womb, does that mean a part of you is missing? And can you "feel" it? Mentally.. if that makes sense?

I was supposed to be a twin but my mother was in a car crash while pregnant and lost my sister. She was 7 months pregnant at the time and because of the risk to me had to carry my sister full term and give birth to her. I onty found out recently.
