Offensive 911 comp (Repost, desc). This is a repost of mine, just posting it for celebration of 9/11! .. I don't think it's funny to laugh at someone who had to leap from a burning building to kill himself quicker...That's just cruel...

Because death.
Because death.

Last year was the first time I saw pics of people jumping out of the towers, and I actually teared up within a few seconds. Knowing they would die anyway, they chose to jump rather than burn to death. To see them again a year later and being used as a joke is just cruel.

Thumb me down for being a moralfag, but those pics actually hurt to see.

If you're going to be a morfalfag, look around. People flip out about 9/11 jokes, but when the holocaust, black slavery, and various other disasters come up in conversations, everyone's all laughing.
Compare 9/11 to the deaths of those in the Holocaust: The largest form of genocide (to my recollection) in human history. 6 000 000 People died, and that is most definitely an underestimate.
People live, people die. That's the cycle of life.

Of course I'm generalizing, and accusing you of laughing at holocaust jokes, slavery, etc. If you don't... Well, I don't believe you.

In comparison to world population the holocaust was relatively small when compared to the Visigoths, the Romans or even the Crusades in terms of genocide.

i watched these people jump from the building first hand, it almost makes me angry at these people for treating 9/11 like a joke, but then i remember that people who find this funny are just sad, and how ****** must their lives be to make fun of it.

9/11 is not funny lots of people lost their lives and it changed a nation forever.
User avatar #252 to #227 - Crusader (09/24/2012) [-]
No it didn't.
People say "9/11 woke America up" or "9/11 made America *blah blah blah*"
In reality, the USA is just as shallow, just as ignorant and just as self-concerned as it was in the 90's, in the 80's and so on.

Last time I saw this exact compilation, I had something to say.

"I know a lot of you don't appreciate opinions, but here goes:

I've never really appreciated this kind of humor. Be it 9/11, Breivik, the Holocaust or other major tragedy jokes, I always find them kind of nauseating, especially the ones of this nature. I've tempered myself to not be too bothered by it, and although I disagree with their content, I try to not have my jimmies rustled.

There is, however, a line that can be crossed where it becomes so classless and ********** that it shouldn't be considered funny to any decent person. I found personally that the line was crossed when someone took an image of a person falling to his death and captioned it with a humorous title, and a contrived one at that.

It's just, this person should be alive today, but he isn't. He's dead because some individuals motivated by an evil idea ended his life. He was faced with a dire choice: burn alive, enduring his last moments in utter pain, or stoop to his death by jumping out the window. With grim resolve, he chose the latter option, and here we sit making fun of this man, whose life may have meant something to hundreds of people; whose actions and words may have moved many profoundly, and we laugh at his demise, in a disrespectful manner? I'm sorry, I suffer -2 points to my Faith in Humanity-bar when seeing that, and I am disappointed that so many people found this to be acceptable humor.

I can't help but feel that this kind of content cultivates a desensitized group of people, who have an easier time forgetting human compassion and empathy.

Anyways. I may just be over sensitive."

I still stand by my words, FJ.
Why must we strive so hard to be 4chan? What do you find so humorous about the death of our fellow human beings?

Someone who can put it into words for me.

i actually find this ******* hilarious, it had me in tears i was lauging so hard. and im from eastern kentucky so we are very patriotic. i just find this funny because a lot of worse **** has ahappened and we dont care. so i dont care about this country.
User avatar #226 to #218 - goldenglimmer (09/12/2012) [-]
I was talking about the loss of human life in general.

Because you disagree with your country politically, you find the death of thousands of your countrymen an appropriate thing to make fun of?

You may not like your country, but let me tell you one thing: you're certainly not contributing anything to it.
User avatar #229 to #226 - CaptinAwesome (09/12/2012) [-]
ok? unless its someone i care about, i'll laugh
User avatar #230 to #229 - goldenglimmer (09/12/2012) [-]
I really don't give two ***** if I sound like a ****** now, I'm just going to say it.

Human life is valuable; unexpendable.

The death of a person will make you laugh, and you find that to be okay, as long as you don't know them personally? Think about what you're laughing at. Think of the immense fear these people felt, about the things that flew through their minds before they hit the ground. Of all their hopes and dreams and loves, and of all their virtues and values. Of everything they were.

You laugh at the abrupt ending of someone's life, and that's okay because you didn't know them, and because you find your nation's politics to be less than optimal.

Wow. The sad part is that you're not alone.

Inb4 butthurt, because I'm not. I'm honestly, truly sad.
User avatar #232 to #230 - CaptinAwesome (09/12/2012) [-]
yea, sometimes i find myself to be quite cruel, but if i do not know them, like met face to face and the are my friend, i will not care if they die. i dont know why but i have no sympathy.
User avatar #233 to #232 - goldenglimmer (09/12/2012) [-]
I suspect that it's to no fault of your own. Our culture is strange, and you, along with many others, have been indoctrinated with a philosophy that in my opinion is utterly contemptuous. It's the fault of culture, and of Western decadence.

And, of course, the internet. We all know the internet is to be blamed as well.

I hope you find some compassion in your heart for your fellow human beings; the ones whom you share this world with. All of us, stumbling around trying to find meaning, value and direction with our lives. We're all on the same road; we're all in the same boat. That's why it's so important to respect our neighbors, whether we know them personally or not.

Funny, but I think the jumpers being included in this is disrespectful and not funny at all. Those are the last breaths and screams of innocent now dead people. A relative of them could be browsing this site.

like me. My uncle died in the collapse. I hate 911 jokes. I saw the north tower fall from my classroom window

i know it's ****** up to laugh at these, but i can't help it on some of them... if there was one of a woman jumping from a building that said "long hair, no stairs" i might've **** myself.

Is that from something? I could try to make one for you if I knew the reference.

I don't appreciate 9/11 jokes. I know it was 11 years ago, but it was still a tragedy that affected many people. I don't find these jokes funny, so I'll politely skip.

Prepares for storm of red thumbs.
User avatar #234 to #196 - widebuddy (09/12/2012) [-]
Do you also skip jokes about the holocaust?
#188 - klondikemonster (09/12/2012) [-]
This is not only tasteless, but disgusting. Those people are now dead, I will not now, not ever, find human death funny.

I kinda hate seeing the pictures of the people falling. Really gives me chills. It must have been pretty bad for them to have leapt rather than face what was happening behind them.
