>one day its really loud, I grab something and hit my ceiling hard thinking it will get scared and run off

>suddenly sounds like nails being dragged straight down in a line above where I sleep
>get an exterminator to check the attic for pests
>MFW he says no sign of pests like nest or poo, just scratches above my bed only

This comp actually made my eyes water from fear, especially the one with the black, scaly demon. demons are real, folks. You better believe it.

>Hear footsteps upstairs walking down hallway to basement door
>Think it's my dad, hide under blankets and pretend to sleep while on the phone
>Keep perfectly still, hear the basement door open
>Hear footsteps all the way down the creaky wooden steps
>Footsteps go to my sister's room
>Her bedroom door opens
>Complete silence for about ten minutes
>Come out from under the blankets, check to see if dad is there
>Nothing, continue conversation
>Next morning ask my sister if she heard it
>She did, she also went under the covers to pretend to be asleep thinking it was our dad
>Go and ask dad if he came downstairs last night
>He said no
>Ask step-mom if she came downstairs
>Said she didn't
>Realize the amount of NOPE I should've had at that moment
>Never slept in unfinished basement again

>Cousin thinks its her mom, gets exited and starts walking to door

>I pick her up and run into baby's room so everyone is together

>Says she's on her way home
>Ava is scared shitless, she starts crying
>So do I
>Wait for mom to get home
>Tell her the story
>Doesn't beleive me
>Cousin Ava still remembers to this day
