yeah, but your only friends are other welders and people who wish to take advantage of your position.

also trade school technically counts as college, if only for kids who majored in shop

i think you just accurately described my friends, never thought about them like that. and i went through 2 years of welding in high school, so once again, youre right.

now i feel like i have no real friends

phoenix calls em like phoenix see's em. I previously worked in a welding shop and yeah...money yes, glory? I drive trucks for less money and more not standing in a corner going blind

i drive trucks too, but its only to put them in the shop. i build dump trucks and snow plows. the only part i dont like about welding is all the skin burns and cuts. but that an occupational hazard that i was willing to accept

Welder/pipefitter here. Welding is great for anyone who wants to get a cheap start on life and use that money to start into something else. Being A-ticket/4th year or whatever, provides a great income for anyone who is willing to work.

Did you know, If you get a CDL Lisence, Big Rig Manufacturers pay upwards of 120,000.00 a year for people to drive the new Rigs to the purchasing companies. pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
