If you're still on it, kill his dogs first. Then try and lure him up the stairs. Then, when he gets up there, jump off down below and wait for him to jump after you, he will be momentarily stunned. attack him and try not to get hit. Rinse and repeat.
PS: wait until you get to blight town(wave good bye to your frame rate), the boss there killed me at least 60 times. In the swamp, use the rusted iron ring if you have it, you will be able to run through the skanky poisonous water faster.
PPS: Good luck

I actually ended up trading in my copy of dark souls for the 360 because I knew the PC version was coming out soon. I'm more of a PC gamer, always been that way. My last char was a level 125 melee sorc type build. Can't remember exactly what it was called. I'm pretty sure I used a +15 claymore as well because of it's scaling with int. The downside with casters though is it's way too laggy, even if the spell hit's it still won't do damage. Which is why I didn't like PvP. I would of won so many PvP battles if it wasn't for the damn lag.
I host in the forest, Ive won so many times, I usually get invaded by backstab spammers and Wrath of the god spammers. But I sometimes get a fair duel, no overpowered spells or backstabs. Lag is no problem for hosts. And if you have a good connection it won't be bad for invaders either.
