If so, at the end of that 7 minutes, would we experience another 7-minute relive?

Yeah, okay say we are in this "7 minute thing" what if when we die again in the dream we have to go through the "7 minute thing" again so kinda like a dream within a dream and your stuck reliving your life over and over endless time?

False. You would know because you wouldn't feel pain. like in a dream
User avatar #345 to #339 - denonymous (05/07/2012) [-]
but you would remember the pain, and you would remember how it felt
User avatar #347 to #345 - bsad (05/07/2012) [-]
no cuz when you think back to say if you broke your arm. you don't feel the pain again you remember it hurt but you can't actually feel the sensation.
User avatar #353 to #347 - denonymous (05/07/2012) [-]
memories stand on a conscious level while dreams have to deal with the subconscious, the subconscious can be more powerful than thinking alone
User avatar #358 to #347 - thejerseyjenn (05/07/2012) [-]
actually, pain is something your brain can make you feel.
User avatar #373 to #358 - bsad (05/07/2012) [-]
Ya cuz its telling you that there is something bad going on and you should stop. but in dreams that does not happen

Actually People dream in real-time. Your brain doesn't function any faster during sleep, just differently. People need to stop using Inception as a basis for scientific fact. It's a movie.

No, by "dreaming in real-time" we mean that a 5 minute-long sequence of dream takes 5 minutes or real-time to happen, as opposed to the popular theory of "5 minutes of dreaming equals 20 minutes in dream-world" or whatever the ratio is supposed to be

I'll wake up after having a dream that feels like it's been 8 hours, wake up and it's only been 10 minutes.

furthermore, i don't have Aeneas or anything else wrong with my sleep patterns.

explain that shiznit.
User avatar #206 to #142 - pezmetal (05/07/2012) [-]
That kind of **** is because of the way your dreams jump around - they're not in a continuous, linear order.
User avatar #213 to #206 - areo0420 (05/07/2012) [-]
so essentially, you're saying:

norm of dreaming= 10+10=20. actual time passed is 20
my dreaming= 5+5+5=50. actual time passed is 20.

excuse me if i'm still confused.

multiple sources saying you recallect the entire day while sleeping several times faster than in real time.
#130 to #126 - John Cena (05/07/2012) [-]
I can agree with this. I've had several dreams that lasted much longer than a day in dream time and about 9 hours in real time. One time I even had a two year long dream. (and yes, it messed me up big time when I finally woke up. . . I still suffer phantom limb syndrome for a tail and wings because of that)
#112 to #110 - pezmetal (05/07/2012) [-]
Thank you! Somebody who knows that. I can't tell you how many arguments I've had about this >_>

But what if when you die at the end of the 7 minutes, you go into an even more compressed replaying of your life.

Lol what if you entered another last 7 minute cycle at the end of your dream life, and then that kept happening over and over again.
