I'm a huge B movie fan. I'd recommend the original Evil Dead trilogy (hell, may as well include the new one, too). Bubba Ho-Tep, Braindead and Bad Taste are also some of my favourites.

all movies listed below are for pusses. "The Thing" by john carpenter made in 1982 is the creepiest fucking movie. If youve seen it already, try watching "Slice"

Cockneys vs zombies. Not scary but a brilliant comedic british twist on the classic.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes
Event Horizon
Halloween (the original one john carpenter made)
Friday the 13th (1980) and Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (best one in the series IMO)
Drag Me To Hell
The Exorcist
Alien (Ridley Scott)
Child's Play (parts
Scream (1996)
Ring ( Japanese 1998)
Scream (1996 film)
Ju-on: The Grudge (original Japanese one)
One Missed Call (2003 film)
Cabin Fever

Don't pick the remakes, all of them suck (except for Halloween (2007), its more close towards the original one, its sequel is complete bullshit). Go for the original films, like the ones in the 70's, 80's, or 90's, they all have what good horror films have and they don't use too much tits

Hmm, I'll try to name a few of my favorites.

The Haunting of David O'reilly - fairly low budget paranormal activity type movie only they actually show the monsters and ghosts.

Insidious - pretty popular movie about a kid who slips in and out of "astral projection" (the act of your concious leaving your body in your sleep).

Sinister - Definetely one of my recent favorites, about a family moving into a new house where the previous family had commited suicide.

Grave Encounters\Grave Encounters 2 - Again, a fairly low budget movie about a "paranormal" -esque show being hosted in a haunted asylum. Sequel is definetely way better.

The Possession - Pretty recent movie (probably rate it right under Sinister) about a divorced father who buys one of his daughters a box at a garage sale - unknowing of the demon trapped inside.

I tried to stay away from the generic serial killer movies (Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc, etc) because it's pretty much a given what to expect. Cheap thrills, partying kids, big boobs, etc, etc.

Given a couple minutes I could probably find some more.
