Oh gosh the eyes, ive seen this before
>having a lady friend driving over to visit my family for a nice quiet dinner
>it's late at night and the roads are infested with deer
>she calls me after a while and is in tears, says she just hit a dear and it's wounded
>i grab a .233 and go out to where she hit it
>the girl and the car are fine but the deer's back is broken
>i tell her to look away so i can shoot it
>i turn around not knowing she's still watching it
>i almost point blank shoot it right between the eyes
>its blood and brains explode all over me and the girl, like i had a firecracker in a watermellon
>instead of falling over dead peacefully it lets out an ungodly loud bleat
>sounds like you were trying to rape an elk with a fish scaler
>while bleating it somehow gains the nerve twitching strength to stand up and run a few steps towards the girl
>by far the worst thing was the fact that its eyes popped out like it was in a cartoon
>the girl with me fell down to her knees, covered in blood and brainmatter, started crying, and vomited on herself
>she sat there probably 10 minutes as the deer's nerves made it dance about in front of her
>i had to take her in my truck, while she was covered in all that, to my house so she could shower and get a change of clothes
>so the first time she met my parents there for our lovely family dinner she is crying, caked in deer and vomit and smelled like death
>they still like her though, but my truck still stinks

IMHO

This deer felt 0 pain and was dead before it hit the ground. No reason to feel bad for this one. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case though. I'm from Wisconsin so I used to be a huge hunter, but after a single bad experience of seeing an animal wounded but not killed, I choose to go less often now, and really only do so because I'm a broke college student that could use the free meat.

But, to those crying about hunting deer in general - As I said, I'm in WI. Deer are rampant here, and often get hit by cars. I'd rather see them shot and die quickly than struck by a vehicle and left to die slowly on the side of the road.

Its eyes just popped. I just can't stop feeling bad for laughing.
