You know you still notice it, out of the corner of your eye. A shadow, a figure, movement. Yet from childhood were a told to ignore it, we are told that ghosts are but myths, ghouls are but stories and that a creak from the evidently still floorboard is just the old, weary house ageing. So we do. We move on in life, ignoring these apparent tricks of the darkness. Pushing them to the back of our minds. Subconsciously suppressing anything that might contradict the safe and secure mind-set we have developed throughout the years. Anything of this nature is just classed as an obscure illusion, bending of light, or a simple mind lapse. Doesn't that seem so simple, doesn't that seem perfect. That in our own homes, we cannot be in danger from anything that we cannot see. But maybe that's the secret. Maybe that is how he works, HE bends the light, HE creates the illusion, and HE plays with your mind, so that may come immune to them, so that you may build up a false sense of security, and so that HE may easily sneak by,
much like how he sneaked into the room, while you were reading this.
