there's a lot of blood that goes to your head, and if you take a bullet to the brain you actually die from your brain not getting enough blood because it's pouring all around the inside (and outside) of your skull
The have been plenty of people who survived extreme cases of hydrocephalus (that's when there's too much fluid in the skull) such as missing 70-95% of brain tissue.Pretty interesting stuff.
back in the early days of medicine. if someone was having mental problems the most common way to solve it was for a doctor to crack open the persons skull and literally cut some of the brain out. this was done of thousands of people, even some famous ones. and although it just ****** them up worse they were still capable of living and were more or less aware of everything.
Half of his brain is still there (I atleast think so).The brain can work with a good portion missing, because it can just take the rest that still exists and let them handle the functions that had been handled by the missing portion. This ability becomes less and less effective with increasing age because youll lose alot of information that was saved on the part and your ability of rehabilating after taking great damage looses its quality.
Its impossible though after a certain amount of lost brain matter and the damage has to be treated immediately.
One important factor of your survival is though that your brain is not allowed to go into full shut down because it wont boot up afterwards. It must stay active to be able to reorganise itself for compensation.
Don't forget: Your brain is actually just a mass of tiny processors working together. If some are missing the rest can still work, but not as good, but for basic functions it wont be a problem.
**karvarausku used "*roll picture*"** **karvarausku rolled image** Reminded me of the swedish guy who survived after being whacked half of his brains off by gypsy.
While you probably will be extremely ... disfunctioned.. by the lack of the other hemisphere most bodily functions like breathing, eating, basic bodily functions... are all controlled by the brain-stem not the hemispheres of the brain. Which is why people are still able to function like this if... made to look like a broken porcelain doll.
