What the hell, Harper Collins! Those illustrations made the stories 50% scarier, if not more. That's likely the problem - they want something tamer for fear of traumatizing today's kids. But damn it all, they're horror stories, the trauma is the point!

Horror isn't what it used to be, too bad.

Never saw either of the artist's work, have to say, the left side is very nice creepy art, the right side feels like twilight

Well **** . Maybe they'll change their minds after the sales go down. Those illustrations were boss. I wouldn't even touch them because i was afraid they would grab or bite my fingers.

Whats next, replacing the zombies in Day of the Dead with ******* teddy bears?

Gammell's illustration for 'Oh, Susannah!' made no goddamn sense, but i loved it. Actually, I loved them all, even though they legitimately gave me nightmares as a kid.

They are the reason I've kept drawing all these years, to be able to one day make art in the style of these classic illustrations. Godspeed, childhood.
