My question is, what inhuman bastard would film this?

If I lived by the golden gate bridge I would walk around it all day once a week wearing a white robe. Every time I would see someone that looks like they are about to commit suicide I will come up to them put my hand on their shoulder and say "Things will get better" then walk away. Sometimes a little hope is all people need...

What kills you first when you jump off the bridge? Do you drown or does the impact of the water kill you?

What the **** ?! Why is nobody going over and helping them? I bet a large number of those people wouldn't have jumped had someone gone up and said "Hey, dude, what's happening, what's going on?"

Agreed. The sheer reality of it makes it hard to believe that the state isn't going to add some sort of protection.

um... why isn't the person filming, or anyone else for that matter trying to help these people? They're just letting them jump! Somebody call the police or something :( I'm depressed after watching this...

I thought about that myself and researched a little; the filmers knew what signs to look for and when they had a "prospect" they called the CHP. Frankly though, they couldn't risk doing anything from the bridge because that could put them in danger (you just don't know if they'll take you with them). I also think that once a person is committed, there is VERY little to do to sway them already - there are signs EVERYWHERE with a phone on some spans that automatically dials a hotline + notifies the PD. Remember this is from a documentary and the goal of the producers was to enact change and raise awareness.

A couple years ago there was going to be a net placed underneath the bridge to stop suicides but the county couldn't get enough support to raise the associating taxes.

Should have replaced the music with this:

h t t p : / / w w w . y o u t u b e . c o m / w a t c h ? v = 1 D 5 S a 2 Y q - 2 g

just curious.. would that definately kill you? surely it would be like jumping from a cliff edge into the sea? but still, that got to me, just the lack of emotion in their faces when they were standing on the bridge. **** .
