It does make sense, however would saliva carry traces of the drug to get into the victims blood, and it would have to be an incredibly powerful drug as the concentration would slowly decrease from person to person.

yeah i was going for all liquids i guess would carry the drug, i thought of it as like the radiation meter on fallout, where the concentration slowly rises. I think thats better as well cause then if you just get bit once your not fucked, its like radiation were it has to build up to take effect. And yeah the drug would have to be insanely strong, to make you trip forever lol

That actually is definitely a more likely and/or believable reason for "zombies". The whole concept of the man-eating undead beings is just too comical, in a sense that it is only something you would read about in a fictional book/movie/game etc.

If your theory were to be true, then we may be able to prevent "apocalypses" from happening-rid the earth of such drugs. But the thing is, if your theory were to be true, then...in order for such a disease to spread, there would have to be a large amount of bites in order for the disease to run through your bloodstream. It would be difficult for the disease to spread, because if every victim were to end up like the homeless man, then...will there ever be a victim who would be able to survive and spread the disease?

(btw: a side topic if you're interested....what do you think was the REAL reason that 'zombie' attacked the homeless man? I honestly don't think LSD alone could have caused such a face-hungry urge.)

Plausible, and one could go so far as to theorize that this extended altered state effects the mind in ways that trigger aggressive and violent tendencies, essentially nullifying rational thought and reference, leaving one in a state of pure primal emotion. The effects could also kill off sensation such as pain and sensitivity to temperature, similar to characteristics of brain tumors and neurological abnormalities, leaving only a need to satisfy hunger, which in combination with the pure primal emotion state, we get zombies.

you should give him another chance just for this book, its flipping great. Basically some unknown group/person sends out a signal that causes anyone to answer a phone once the signal is released to become basically what you described, highly aggressive, unreasonable killing machines. But they start to get smarter, as they do the main character has to trek across america to get to his son before he answers his phone
