What did you think about the second movie?
I can honestly say I've never been more mindfucked by a movie than Silent Hill: Revelation....and I've seen Shutter Island, Inception and Fight Club!

I was mind fucked... with rage. Why, just, why!? They had Sean Bean in a movie and didn't kill him, they turned Vincent into a fucking Edward knockoff, the made Pyramid Head into an attack dog and... and... that was my favorite game in the series, those bastards!
gaaah now i need to download the movie and watch it again.
should i also download revelations while i am at it? havent heard anything from it yet

I did see Revelation, and... Well, I didn't hate it.
Some of the sets looked cheap, but there was kind of an odd charm to it. I also thought they captured Heather's personality well, and a few scenes followed those of the game alright. Malcolm McDowell was definitely the highlight of the film, giving a highly over-the-top performance during his bit of screentime. Some halfway decent special effects here and there, and a few creepy locations; especially the odd, post-apocalypse-ish rendition of the town near the end.
However; Pyramid Head was pointless, and shat all over SH2 canon. Vincent's mysterious character was pretty much ruined (didn't help that the actor was terrible), Sean Bean was mostly sleepwalking through the film, and Douglas was wasted.
There were quite a few plotholes, and the story itself was very much dumbed down from the game.
As a movie, it was okay; had a few decent moments. As a Silent Hill movie, it wasn't very good. (I liked the first movie though.)
