this is the most positive response to my content...ever...
I had the same idea as someone in the earlier comments, so I figured I'd put my thoughts into text and get some opinions on it.
PART I: THE WALLS
'You don't know what you have until it's gone.' Just an old saying right? Well damn, I lived it.
We all woke up in the middle of a field, all 30 of us. No one really knew what was going on and everyone looked around, taking in the scenery. Then I saw it, and everyone followed my gaze to the huge bedrock wall in front of us, maybe 100 yards away. Someone shouted out, and we were all looking at an identical wall to the west, then the east and the south. We were trapped. Suddenly, a heard a voice in my head said quite sternly 'Do not leave the walls.' It repeated again and again, I thought I'd go insane, I guess someone beat me to the punch. Literally. She pounded at the bedrock wall with abandon, claiming she wouldn't be trapped like some kind of animal, until several people pulled her away from it.
The voice stopped. Able to concentrate again, I gazed around to size up potential threats and allies. I didn't have much time for this on account of the sun slowly dipping into the horizon. That meant night. Which meant I needed to get inside some kind of shelter or get ready to fight for my life.

This is a really rudementary (in my opinion) organization of my thoughts but I sort of plan on highlighting the points the forums author did but add some story and character development. Suggestions and such are welcome.

I have an idea for an experiment. Go to a classic school with the classic coolkid/bully-nerd/lowlife hierarchy. After a while, remove all the cool kids and the bullies, and leave only the nerds and lowlifes, watch as the leftover group divides into an identical hierarchy. Bonus points: reintroduce the original bullies, see if they except the new ones

I seem to be getting a stumbleupon link and not the social experiment link. Interested in reading it though if anyone is willing to give me the experiment link!
Its nothing really new. If you want to read about a real social experiment, look up the Standford Prison Experiment. Now that is REAL scary shit.

It's called the Tragedy of the Commons. Garret Hardin wrote a famous article on it.
