No, he doesn't. That is a Phalanx alright
<-- This is the Goalkeeper CIWS.
Honestly how do you even get those two mixed up? The Phalanx has a huge ass white cylindrical radome hat on it ffs
Sorry that I misread his comment, I thought he was talking about a system that uses the GAU 8, which is the goalkeeper, not that his image was of a goalkeeper
You may be right in that the goalkeeper would have been a better choice being that it fires 30mm shells over the phalanx's 20mm shells along with keeping the original gun of the A-10. However, as long as it make a satisfying brrrrt sound I don't much care which gets mounted on my A-10 ThunderHind
To be fair, the GAU-8/A is the central piece to the A-10; The airplane is built around the gun. You don't strap such a great BRRRT to just any aircraft, you have to strap the right aircraft to such a great BRRT.
choosing the best aircraft is like choosing the best waifu, there are those who like the f-22 and there are those who have bad taste inb4 no gau-8 inb4 the pieces don't fit together inb4 now just a show bird inb4 pak-fa is better inb4 maybe it's not the best waifu
"there are those who like the f-22"
I uh... just read this. www.wired.com/2013/02/stealth-pilots-coughing/
I was in the AF for six years and all i can say is the pilots hated it after a week.
F-22 and F-35 get their hate from armchair generals, they were made in accordance with what congress wanted, and fufill the role they were asked to fill. The F-22 is an air superiority fighter with 5th generation technology, the F-35 is a versatile multi-role aircraft that understandably has a lot of compromises to be a jack of all trades.
History of the F-15 www.ausairpower.net/Profile-F-15A-D.html
Yeah it pretty much is considered the best combat fighter ever built. I also recall an Israeli F-15 loosing a wing and yet it was still able to land. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M359poNjvVA
I do believe it's great due to the specific role it was built for. Unlike the F-22, and F-35 that were built for Multi Role. The F-15 was a true Fighter air frame that was later adapted for Multi Role.
And it still ********** up as a multirole, the E is an amazing aircraft. I'm looking to take an officer's commission after I finish my degree, and hopefully I'll do well enough to fly 15's
**** yeah it's a great bird, to can tear any unlucky mother ****** out of the sky with that machine. Just pointing out the pilots who fly it are miserable.
humans need quite some time to grow, maybe thats why.....
the germans should have used Pickelhauben while being shot, that would have been lethal as **** ..... i know that pickelhauben were ww1, while the sturmtiger was ww2
pic related, its my great uncle Wilhelm minutes before she was fired at Fortress verun.....
I've read that the cost of human lives in the form of collateral damage when using human projectiles just was not worth it, when in comparison to the newly developed atom bomb that had relatively little, even when considering fallout.
So it's got the fuselage of an Mi-24D, wings, tail and engines of an A-10 with Russian S-8 rocket pods as well as a bomb I can't identify attached to the hardpoints. Seems pretty cool
