It was at Arnhem where the British soldiers ran out of ammo and resorted to this and hand to hand, there was a point were there was a position the British were defending that was an aid station for both British and German wounded, somehow the building caught fire and both sides joined together to evacuate the building. After it all was done both sides looked at each other like "now what?". The Germans then found out that the Paras had ran out of ammo the previous day and had been sporadically firing captured German arms to make the Germans think that it was heavily defended. Needless to say it was probably the most lighthearted surrender in the whole war with both sides laughing with each other.
