When I used to play bass at school I was forced to play mindless droning rubbish where it was just the root notes. I wasn't allowed to elaborate or anything. I couldn't even play in a different style.

fuck those guys. get your self a five or six string bass and then refuse to play root notes. have some fun in your band

I'm looking for a fivestring, my fingers are too short to do well on a six-string. Problem is, I'm a lefty, so not much affordable stuff around.
