Fun fact: An egg you can get from the grocery store is not fertilized so what you are actually eating is a hen's period.

Another fun fact: A favourite food in the Philippines is a duck egg that has been fertilized, raised for 10 days or so and then eaten. Of course being 10 days fertilized and kept warm, a baby duck is seen after cracking the shell open. I is called "balut".
