Thrash and Speed metal are Essentially different name, i find. thrash generally is a bit punkier, with harsher vocals, but i personally see the terms as interchangeable. i'm honestly more of a prog/death metal guy anyways lol

well, by prog i mean tech/prog. i get bored of just plain old. i'm into stuff like Cynic, Augury, Obscura, ect lol. i love talking to people who are into any metal in general, because it's all good in some way.

Oh,yup,Cynic are great.Havent heard much of Obscura,though,but they are playing on a festival im visiting this year,so i might give them a try

Okay,that sounds fuckin interesting.Im not much of an Necrophagist-Fan,but Sound of Preseverance was my favorite Death-Album.I didnt like the "real death metal" stuff they did on leprosy for example.Its decided,ill give it a try.thanks:D

sounds nothing like necro, just has the same skill level. it's pretty much if you took SoP, added elements of cynic, with CRAAAAAZY bass (6-string fretless) and drum lines, and added the technical skill of necrophagist intot he whole mix. it's THAT good man

Celestial Spheres, Vortex Omnivium, Choir of Spirits and Cosmogenesis are all great starting points. for weirder stuff, check out Orbital elements or Septuagint.
