That is 100% correct, men does not need some sort of pseudo-metro-sexual greenish abomination of an excuse for a propper attire, what we need is late german gothic style full plate armour like the one worn by Archduke Sigismund of Tyrol, but the one in the pic will suffice...

Besides, I would rather have armor that has good coverage than gold embellishments, The Archduke's armor left a lot vulnerable. The only embellishments I need is fluting, because that actually adds structural strength to the armor.

I study Harnischfechten (German armoured fencing), so I would prefer armor that actually defends my nuts, butt, and armpits with plate. Besides, I actually don't like the Archdukes armor, I hate the look of a short fauld and long cuisses.
