My issue with him in ME1 is that they basically want to make you take pity on him, while Ashley was more honorable about it. While I don't like either of them, I can at least respect Ashley.

I respect her, but she's a bitch. if I ever replay ME1 ever again, I'll be going for sweet innocent Liara.... and then sticking with her in 3 when she becomes a slightly darker person

I did Ashley in ME1, then when she bitched me out on Horizon in Mass Effect 2, I pretty much said Fuck you, I'm going after Tali. Her apology email didn't make me feel better either.

After she changed so much I could no longer trust Liara. I feel like her obsession for power began as a crutch for dealing with losing me. And it didn't go away once she discovered I was still alive. I found comfort in the embrace of Tali because while she may not understand, I feel like she would do anything to help me if I just asked.

On the other hand, I feel like Liara is perfect for femshep. But I wont go into that.
