I think this movie and the trilogy was a masterpiece. and I love the books. I dont get why book elitists feel like the movie has to be exactly spot on with the book.

It doesnt, but in some instances (im looking at you eragon, series of unfortunate events, percy jackson) if you deviate too far from the text, you just ruin the story in every single way possible. Fortunately when these films deviate, its with well written filler that, in my personal opinion, improves upon them. I read the hobbit, and enjoyed it well enough i suppose, but i can honestly im enjoying the films so far more than the book. Guess ill have to wait and see if that holds true though.

MFW every time the Eragon Movie is mentioned.

Aria turns into a ******* slutass damsel in distress and Orik doesn't even exist. Not to talk about how Durza has a castle out of a sudden, and
AAAAAAAARGH SO MANY THINGS WRONG.

A series of unfortunate events didn't really need to follow the book. All they needed to do was dress Jim Carrey up in that costume and follow him around with a camera and Voila! awesome movie.

The director for Eragon said they wouldn't let him make the movie as long as he wanted, so he just wrote his own story. Which is BS.

Also, Cirque Du Freak (The vampire's assistant) should be on that list...

It's a great story and, after the whole Twilight series, there could have been a badass vampire again, but some people are just incompetent
