Garen is one of the worst champs..lol

He does ok at the start and mid game, but he is an epic fail champ endgame

build him AD and you can backdoor well because you can get rid of minion waves so quickly

the problem there is theres alot of champs who can rid minion waves faster and are better late game picks, garens usefulness comes in the fact he can absolutely decimate someone early game causing the other team to be lacking their top in teamfights due to underleveling and loss of coinage. if garen doesnt get early gamekills he turns into a hinderance because hes generally worse than most other top-type picks late game.

cough cough Darius is made for destroying at top without any counter, Garen is made by doing ok at top and not dying and being a real bitch to the enemy team late game if you build him right.
You just haven't seen anyone play him correctly.
