But it's unneeded - and it's one of the reasons LoL is more popular - more new players can get into it without confusing mechanics scaring them away.

There's also the odd interface, levelling system and environmental interactions that try to set it apart from other MOBAs but ultimately just don't work in practice. It's just a bit of a shoddy piece of work altogether because the creators were being too ambitious.

the only thing thats utterly shit is early access and the million times broken promise of 'we wont let you pay anything after you've bought it'

Environmental interaction: Consuming trees to restore your health using those rune things and that assassin hero that cuts down trees; those random pillars people spawn somehow that seem to do nothing.

Weird interface: Played about 20 games, never figured out how to buy anything beyond boots and runes, even after making sure I read everything there is to read about the game.

Also, the whole game has this bizarre WoW feel to it that makes it really strange to play.

consuming trees is normal, you had it in the original dota, it just looks more obvious due to the better graphics
and I don't know a treecutting assassinhero, you do have treedestroying skills though
the 'random pillars' are wards, they give vision so you can see when a rune spawns or you get ganked, they don't have that in LoL? damn

the shop thing, that just takes getting used to, maybe if you took more time ingame like at a practice match

At any rate, I think I may give it another chance, now that they've made all heroes free to play.

Admittedly, HoN was my first MOBA, so that might be why I was scared away from it and moved on to the more noob-friendly LoL, and I guess it just stuck. I remember playing it a while ago and my teammates were on voice chat saying things like "Valk, what are you doing?"... I was like... "idk lol" - it was really embarrassing.

Now that I'm more experienced I might be able to understand it better.

Imo the balance is fine, it just depends on your setup, you have counterheroes (more or less) and general support/carries/tanks etc

but...galio's ult is amazing for ap...they cant get their abilities off and can get destroyed by your ap carry, jungle, and top...

And then fiddle Ulted in and drained the fuck out of everyone with 400 AP.

I have some friends that played as her in public beta and they said she was trash. I'm looking forward to going against a good one lol

She is supposed to be really agressive

played in the public beta for almost a week. shes not that strong almost all of her DPS can be countered by standing on her seeds. she has one really long range mini snare and another AOE mini snare.her ult only does any damage if they are standing in it long enough for it to finish its cast time (think a target nunu ult without the ability to cancel it). over all shes a fairly weak champion almost on the heimerdinger level. or at least that's what u got from it i could be wrong.

I don't know maybe it's because I don't know how to play against her yet
