shadowstepone (12/28/2015) [-] i'm d4, i've seen a few, but they always get stomped by rivens fioras and even the occasional teemo. She's only good against champs that suck at dodging. Basically its the darius rework all over again.

high tier and low tier pics are completely different.
riot tends to balance champions based on how they do in diamond and above, not realizing that lieterally 95% of their players will never reach diamond.
meaning that while competitive play maybe very well balanced, for 95% of the people playing league, champions like illao are horrendeously broken pieces of **** .
basically a broken piece of **** mid-plat and below.

she's not a strong character... in high levels
but that's because her abilities are easy to dodge, and she has no engage.
but in low elo, she's broken as **** , because people are terrible at dodging, and give her the engage she needs, for free.

mcdolla (12/27/2015) [-] Me included,why use a champion that you're not going into a matchup in which you already know what will happen after every level you gain when you can just pick the meta champions and play everysingle game without a single difference,man league of legends is so fun when you get to master/challenger levels.

On top of that illaoi is pretty easy to shutdown. More experienced players will be able to dodge her ults+tentacles, as they still have a delay on the smack. If she gets no smacks or the tentacles die/ult wasted, she's pretty worthless afterwards except for some dmg

mcdolla (12/27/2015) [-] Why pick illaoi when you don't know how she does against most champions when you can pick champions that have experience with and are considered in-meta and have good synergy with the current items (RageBlade for example),and then i talked about how every game in master/challenger tier are all the same and you almost never see something new and interesting.

Well, I mean, I guess you could learn to play her? It's all part of the game. And it's a refreshing new element.
Only reason I bought her was because she was the first ever 'new' champ I could get on first release and because I had a lot of IP lying around but didn't what to spend it on since I don't like using most of the champs.
Thought it'd be pain learning her but, it's an absolute blast using her. And since a lot of the players haven't gone against her, they tend to panic, hehe.
Well, I mean, I guess you could learn to play her? It's all part of the game. And it's a refreshing new element.

Old gankplank wasn't seen too often/. Few guys like eyejoker still played him. New GP actually is pretty great after the rework, and more inline to be used, but still wont see pro play much if at all

That **** got quickly nerfed lol. He's still got plenty enough to play high elo for sure though. It's hilariously funny to wreck teams now. I got trash talked by a kat who said i was a scrub for picking an easy champ. Like wut

Gankplank at least hast to worry about positioning and barreling proerly to get the most out of his kit now, and using the barrels properly to reset your passive(since he doesn't get raise moral, and has no gapclosers/escapes) and penetrate does take a lil work, but never have i laughed that hard
