>Sora spent a whole year away, one person mentioned their parents in that time
>never once gave a fuck about his parents
>didn't falter once at the idea of leaving them
>was already planning to leave the island before the events of KH1
>he doesn't act spoiled
>he's not smart, definitely no private schools (in fact, Olette mentioned homework and Sora just said "Homework?" as if to say he'd never heard of it)
>Sora wore a vest and a jumpsuit, definitely not kids attire
>mother called out for him twice, and when he didn't respond, she didn't even TRY to check the island (which can be seen from his window) where he plays EVERY DAY.
>he stays in his room all day just sitting in bed, until dinner.
>for a whole year, everyone literally FORGOT about him.
>his mom realized, she didn't have a 15 year old son named Sora
>she probably threw out all his shit
>when he gets back, she wont even care
>when he got back, he spends time at the island, not with his parents
>they dont care about him
>his family hated him
>his family was abusive
>nobody loved him
>he's still the best fucking character in the series.

About the homework part, I think he was baffled by the notion because he has been on a year-long quest and hasn't been in school for quite some time. Besides, he's not an idiot. He may say some childish stuff, but he's a 14 year old in the first game. He catches on really quickly to newly introduced techniques, suggesting near genius level in things related to combat. He wasn't particularly smart, but he wasn't dumb.

I -CAN- understand the homework bit, but he turns to Donald and Goofy who shake their heads unknowingly, but that's still too ambiguous. It can be both. For the sake of my story, I'll stand firmly to my idea.
Secondly, strength comes from muscle memory, self discipline, and training, or at least Sora's strength. His KH1 fighting style is very poorly stanced and easily deflected. (And, it's been proven on multiple accounts that Sora without a Keyblade can't hurt diddly jack "Such is the power of the Keyblade, the child's strength is not his own." But he IS improving massively.)
Thirdly: He's -on many occasions- behind Goofy in terms of understanding and basic logic. And lets be honest. It's Goofy. He's quick tempered at times, and short sighted at other times. It's his resolve that does all his thinking. I'm not saying he's an idiot, but he's definitely not intelligent.

I'd also like to add he's the best character in the series. Why? Because he's the fucking man. I'd suck his dick any day.

You sir, are awesome.

I have always been so revolted by Sora's crappy stance. I was like "How!? Why?! What are you doing!?"

I do agree with you on most of your points. I believe that they will be showing in DDD that he will eventually be able to incorporate the KB's power into his own though.

I do wish that they had introduced a more in-depth character. Sora is a "Black/White" character showing no real emotional depth beyond his convictions. Kairi is better, but is like the girl who doesn't have much part beyond emotional support and as a plot character. Riku is one of the characters I, and many others, like a lot because he's deeper. He has his demons and they show. He's more "real".

I love Sora too of course. He's badass, especially his forms, but I wish that there were more depth to him. Those "Dark" times are not bad for the storyline if put in right and not just skimmed over in a few scenes. It's like if a character has something terrible happen and he's like new an episode later.

Feels sorta strange thinking "We need depressing parts in this!"

P.S., it would be awesome if Sora were able to understand his Anti-form.

I hated Kairi. I hated her so much, I would tap that, so hard, but, she's... so... nothing. She doesn't contribute, and when her character DOES develop, ("This time, I'll protect you!") you don't feel... any sort of... affection, or love towards her motive. She's just sort of... there. Like a secondary objective that you want to get 100% in a game.

Riku? I loved him in KH1. His demon made him evil, but his motives were still great. I'll admit, he's got a much clearer mindset than Sora, is definitely stronger, faster, AND smarter. (Again, Sora without the Keyblade would probably fight at like... Seifer-level fights. At the end of 2, he'll probably be Leon-level. Riku does have the power of Ansem to back him up though, so, I don't know. It's hard to judge.) He's the -only- character in the history of stories that I've seen, who's forgivable to "return, after leaving, to the good team." He, well, in all fairness, was already on the good team, just, using the bad team's help.

Every character introduced in KH2 was too emo-ey for my likes. I love my cheerfulness.

But, back to the point. I want- no, I need, one of the final bosses in Dream Drop Distance (hereby known as 3D) to be Sora. I want him to be angry, unforgiving, hateful, spiteful, and difficult. It could happen during Riku gameplay somehow. At the end of KH2, Xemnas was all up in their emotions going "Sora, are you sure you can trust Riku?" or "Riku, are you sure you're not jealous of Sora?" And that's gotta hit hard - Their friendship was solid though, which, was kinda cool. But I want Sora to crack, because he's perfect so far, if it really matters, he NEVER fucks up. And when he does, we'll be able to see his true resolve.

>i'm really having trouble stopping these words.
>also you rock, i never give a shit about thumbs but, there you go.

Kairi is alright. She was sorta just there, but she added a kind of "At first, you became my rival because of her, then it became a rivalry of habit" thing in the very beginning. She BETTER have an actual part to play in KH3.

I am not one to believe that Darkness is evil. Read "The Dark and Misunderstood". It's a Naruto fanfic, but it's a sort of cross-over with KH. I think darkness is like.. a shell of comfort that protects you, cool to the touch and soothing, while light is a blade of courage that shows you your path.

I think that they should have capitalized on the deep issue of the Nobodies. Think about it, it has such implications. Such depth and has the potential of shattering ALL of Sora's earlier convictions knowing the true meaning behind the anguish that they can not even feel. It would introduce such a deeper level to the story. They pretend to have feelings to have some semblance of sanity or coherence, or they embrace their lack of emotions to such a degree that you feel such pity and sorrow for the Nobody. It would be mind-crushing.

I don't really want an "Evil" Sora per-say. More like.. writhing in anguish due to finding that most of his assumptions of the Nature of Light and Darkness were wrong. All of his fighting and all of his heart into a false ideal. Perhaps just like.. a "I can't do it anymore" thing where his heart goes numb and he goes unconscious and becomes a re-occurring boss for a while.

They also need to add more detail on Riku's "Path of Twilight". What are the implications? And what of Sora's anti-form? Is it conscious, is it him, but in a rage, or is it just part of his nature simply coming out like any other feeling?

Also, Sora going numb would not be a "He goes Anti-form". More like.. just partly turns Darkness and sorta Nobody-like.

That's what I sorta meant. Not like a "I'M EVIL NOW LOL RIKU U AINT NOTHIN"
I meant like "I can't do this, I'm out *SELF PITY AND ANGUISH*"
And I wanted it to be believable too, like... like... he found out it was his fault, or, he caused the death of a friend. Something that Sora COULD'VE done, and he would've regretted it.
They definitely need to expand on Riku, his character has developed so much, and if they kept him at his current state, it'd be a waste of emotional trauma used on plot.
As far as nobodies go, I never really got interested in the whole lack of emotions, because their characters were too emotive to even care about. Axel's cool though, ever since Riku went emo, we've needed a cocky sidekick.
In my opinion, Olette has more personality than Kairi. But I can fully understand your point, she was my entire driving resolve in kingdom hearts 1.

So, I've got the english patch for final mix right here, and you're totally making me play it again.

Damn. I have this incredible urge to buy every one of the KH games that relate to the story, including FM.

It actually might be more horrifying that they didn't capitalize on the Nobodies. Glossing over such a deep and terrifying existence is almost as bad as the existence itself..

Riku is best in CoM for the PS2 in my opinion.

For Sora, I want it to be a thing where we can relate to his anguish rather than us demonizing him. Which would already be hard due to his Main Character status. They have too much Disney in it and not enough FF. It needs more emotional depth. More "Grey Area" morality and darker subtleties.

But really, the reason no one had much of an impact from the Nobodies real nature is because we didn't truly understand it. The game didn't let us really, so we glossed over it. The anguish in Xemnas' very existence was somewhat shown, and had less "Black/White" moral ideals, but they changed the subject too soon. And Mikey's bullshit answer of "We don't hate the Darkness. It's just sorta.. scary." pissed me off. It's scary so you seek its very end and deny the existence of others?

I mean, were the Nobodies doing anything evil by collecting lost hearts? Sure, their methods were bad, but that's really it.

Unfortunately, I don't have the money to get all the games yet.

I never.. -hated- the spin offs. But they never caught my attention. Riku was best in COM, but Sora was best in KH1. kairi better damn well be best in 3.

For Roxas - the only Nobody with actual emotions, - I hated how he only showed the one emotion Sora never displayed. I mean, there was times when Sora was sad, but it quickly turned into anger.
I also didn't like Sora crying in KH2. Kinda bothered me.

I agree with the glossing - in fact. I think the ENTIRE disney portion of KH2 was actually redundant, (think back to KH1. every world was like "i'm looking for my friends, riku and kairi" whereas kh2 was like "oh hai aladdin, got anything you want me to kill?") and in my opinion, they needed to go more in depth to the organization's feelings. - Even 358 kind of let me down there.

I have pirated every pirate-able game, but, I refuse to play it unless I own it in real life. So I've yet to touch KH1 FM, or BBS. I don't have a PSP, or a 3ds (I've got DSlite, so, 358 is in my care.) I don't have a PS3, and I'm broke as shit, so, I'm glad we've got distance 'till it comes out. I don't have a ported PS2, so though I own KH2 FM, I can only play the emulated version (got a controller usb thing, so I'm nerded out right here.)

Finally:
Because I missed BBS, 90% of this is speculation but, I think the final FINAL kh3 boss should be Xemnas, Ansem, and Xehanort, soul, heart, and body. (and also, I think it should END the series, and not let it drag out any further, I love kh and all, but I'd prefer an amazing ending to a mediocre series. KH always does shit in threes anyway.)

"Where does a Heartless go when it is cast into the shadows? What becomes of that which had no fate? And of the heart once human, does it cease to be?"

Something like that would be cool as a liner that gets us interested.

But yeah, I'm gonna go play video games now.

Actualy they say at i think 2 seperate ocasions that a heart freed from being a heartless will return to being a heartles unless they are for example used to create a kingdom hearts. Also i think they have a lifestream like rebirth system that the heart gets purified in the true kingdom hearts and is reborn as a new person. Or something i dont realy know just random thoughts on the subject :P

Yes i wish he would get a bigger role than just being an awesome superboss. I mean a character in a final fantasy world would be awesome :D
