Shizune's was shit IMO

I agree with you about Shizune's. Her path wasn't nearly as sad, which I liked, But her good ending didn't really seem like an ending. It felt like they could have ended it so much better than they did.

I found myself bored throughout the story with her. Even Misha's problems were not enough to keep me entertained.

The bad endings are too much for me... I got hanako's bad ending once... it was so terrible I will swore to never get a bad ending again.

It hurt me greatly to get everyone's bad/neutral endings. I wouldn't wish the pain I felt on anyone. I got everyone's good endings first time round, so in one day I rushed through them again to get 100%. They were truly heart breaking.

After going through hanako's good route (still my favourite route) and recieving large quantities of feels, I knew I would have to rush through it to get the bad ending if I wanted 100% and dear god was it heartbreaking, I rushed through it as quickly as possible.

Lilly is blind, Shizune is deaf and mute, Emi has no legs past her knees, Rin has no arms, and Hanako has severe burns. Misha doesn't have any disability, but she is Shizune's translator and best friend.

If bad enough, burns can cause permanent nerve damage, which causes extreme pain even when treated with pain medication and another to deaden the nerve endings to lessen it. I know because I've gone through it, and have that damage. It limits me a lot. Mine aren't even bad, and Hanako's seem much worse. Then those social dificulties make it even harder for her.

I think it'd be a bit far to say it's shit, but I think it's injustice that an average as fuck VN like KS gets so much attention.

It gets so much attention because:
1) It's 100% free.
2) It's originally in English.
3) It has more meaning to it than simply "Why can't I hold all these boobs?" (exaggerated, but you get the point)
4) The characters are fairly well written compared to most visual novels (but yes, there are VNs out there that have MUCH better characters).
5) It was made by a ragtag group from 4chan.

I can see that as people may not be comfortable with going through the procedures to download a jap VN, but as far as KS goes as a nakige it's a 6, maybe 7/10. Plus anything which isn't a nukige can get past the why can't I hold all these boobs level.

I've actually been wanting to get into VNs for awhile. KS was my first, and it was great, but I get the feeling there are better ones. Any recommendations that are preferably free and at the very least, have an option for English?

It's probably because it was the majority's first VN.
I was rather touched by my first VN, but looking back it didn't deserve the praise that I gave it.

My first anime was Naruto, but the anime that got me into anime was Higurashi. I still like it, but I don't find a spot for it in my top 25.
