Audacity is a good one, you will also need to download the mp3 encoder for this program, you can make the song as short as you like and then export as an mp3 file

Scroll down to "mixes" for workout tracks

um, the alarm on an iphone can be set to play music, if thats what your asking.

you could make a playlist of songs that add up to the time you want to spend running

if you wanted to create one big song from them then http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-audio-editing-software.htm#QuickSelec tionGuide
you could also try DJ mixing software as your just mixing songs.

Are you looking for a static list of music, so that you always know when to change? Or one that mixes it up with different music but still gives you the correct time intervals to change on?

I haven't done this, but I assume with Audacity you could just import the tracks and cut them together pretty easily.
