Whenever I reach some cathartic moment in this game, or see something external like this, I don't cry. I just get this weird feeling in my chest, like I just swallowed a bunch of dry bread and it's stuck down there (speaking of which, does that happen to anyone else? Is that a relatable simile?) but it goes away after a while. Then I'm just left with some kind of empty feeling in its place, like I was used to the discomfort. But that goes away eventually, too... I don't cry. I don't think I can, at least I haven't cried since I was ten, but this game makes me want to. I stopped playing it midway through Shizune's route. Maybe I couldn't take it anymore, maybe I pushed it away on purpose, but honestly I don't know how to feel about this game. All I know is it's great, it's sad, and it's made me think about a lot of things.
