After finally playing this game

I am in love with Lilly.
I need this girl in my life now.
Why can't i have this girl in my life.

The first path I took was with Emi. The only thing I could focus on was how truly Hisao loved her. The way he focuses on her and admires everything about her. Even when he's ******* her in the ass he's all like "Even though I love this feeling I can tell she doesn't like it so I should make it better for her." And no matter what happened he was constantly trying to make the relationship work. And it did. With the most romantic good ending ever.

It was so sweet I got diabetes.
User avatar #175 to #166 - sketchE (01/28/2013) [-]
thats why shes my favorite. hanako he was trying to protect and rin he was trying to understand but Emi he actually loved. lilly felt obligitory after breaking down on him and shizune, well **** shizune. it seems crude but the fact she could just act like nothing was different kind of bothered me
#188 to #175 - rustyyyshackleford (02/21/2013) [-]
I also didn't like Shizune. The first couple acts were fine, but the end she gets so distant and they never really connect, and the reason is retarded (I'm busy with the student councilllll - whatever). AND JIGORO! I hate that he never gets explained, he's such a butt. I guess he is just comic relief, but I think it negatively affects Shizune's route.

Hanako, yes he is trying to protect, but I think the story moves past that (moves past him just trying to protect her) and moves on to them honestly loving each other. And Hanako's route ends very early compared to the others, remember that. Most of the other routes go to or past graduation, Hanako's route ends while Lilly is gone to Scotland, so it leaves a lot of time left to speculate. I haven't read her epilogues yet, I'm hoping they'll come through well. (I want to read Sisterhood, and Mehkanik's epilogues).

I think Emi and Lilly are better in that respect. Emi and Hisao connect physically very early on (and emotionally, whether of not Emi is locking him out at that point), so they have a lot of time left in the story for them to be together, instead of it not happening till the end. And Lilly and Hisao's confession to each other comes early, I think that's the best one. Same with Emi's route, he just plain lovesss her, and a lot latter part of the route is about them being together, with makes it heavier and more powerful than the other routes.

Do you know any good epilogues for Emi? I read the one where she and Hisao go hiking. I thought it was a bit short, but I loved it anyway. When Hisao was talking to Mrs. Ibarazaki at the end, I lost it, I was bawlinggg.

User avatar #189 to #188 - sketchE (02/21/2013) [-]
point two is kind of off i think. yes hanakos is the shortest but emis isnt much longer they went to right after exams. i think shizunes is the longest ending the last day of school. lillys is close but the epilogue doesnt necessarily say. it is possible to get accepted to a school in the middle of your senior year

I'm about an hour into the game so far, and I can honestly say I can't see what all the hype is. So far it's just a bunch of reading text and whatnot. Then again, I have an incredibly short attention span, so that could be it too. Am I missing something in the game or what?

Well, you may be expecting the game to do too much for you.
You need to try to get inside the head of one of the characters and start wondering about how they think, that's how real relationships work too :P

It doesn't help when most people that like it talk like it's the holy grail of visual novels
#169 to #154 - alfrebecht (01/28/2013) [-]
Fair enough. I'll say it's the best (and only one I know of) that deals with disabilities.
It also was the only one I've read where I didn't just feel like I was a god pretending to play a man (My one beef with F/SN which I love outside of Shirou's OP nature). And it also creates some of the most genuinely flawed female protagonists.

I'd say the writing is above average but not the best, so if the above doesn't sell you, or you're looking for super action kung fu ninja to pop out of the walls, you're in for a bad time. If you want something of a similar nature but more mystery/adventure try Ever17

Are you implying 999 and the Kyle Hyde Saga aren't some of the best VNs in the universe
#173 to #171 - alfrebecht (01/28/2013) [-]
Yes? They're not VNs, much like Layton and Phoenix Wright are not VNs.

Great games? yes. VNs? no

Most of the impact is in the ends of the stories. it's also interesting to see who's story you get based solely on the decision you make. But like I said the best parts are in the ends, that make you want to play it again and again
User avatar #129 to #127 - heidekihinata (01/28/2013) [-]
That's what a visual novel is.
User avatar #133 to #129 - lmaobutts ONLINE (01/28/2013) [-]
Well, yes, I figured that much. I guess what I meant to say is that I'm not really experiencing many emotional bonds with any of the characters or getting really far in depth towards the game.
User avatar #135 to #133 - heidekihinata (01/28/2013) [-]
fair enough, and like the guy above me said, you do have to get a ways into it until you start to feel dead inside.
User avatar #139 to #135 - probablynaked (01/28/2013) [-]

I hated Rin's path, she was way too stoic and emotionally retarded for my tastes. Emi is best girl.
User avatar #167 to #152 - madjik (01/28/2013) [-]
Heh I think that is why I wanted to do Rin's path, the way she talked and just the general care free attitude was awesome but I agree at times she can be completely retarded.
#165 to #152 - anonymous (01/28/2013) [-]
Personally, I wish more girls were that stoic.

I hate bitches that cry or get angry over every little petty issue.
User avatar #160 to #152 - probablynaked (01/28/2013) [-]
I respect your opinion, but I feel that while Rin was perhaps the more frustrating of the paths... hers was definitely the most rewarding for me.
User avatar #161 to #160 - psychosamm (01/28/2013) [-]
It's because it was so frustrating that i disliked it so much. Then ending was nice but certainly not worth the loads of frustration. Hanako's was kind of frustrating too but her ending was worth it.
User avatar #163 to #161 - probablynaked (01/28/2013) [-]
I guess I liked Rin's path more because of my desperate need to understand her. Though I'll admit wanting to give up at times considering..

Everyone has their favorites, i just had no patience for her xD

I believe that, after going through my first run, without outside help, that I have gotten Emi's good ending.

and HOOOOOLY **** Hisao. NIGNOG HOW DO YOU NOT FIGURE OUT THAT HER DAD IS DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD?!

****** waved a god damned flag in his face about it and he's like "Derp"
User avatar #108 to #106 - probablynaked (01/28/2013) [-]
SERIOUSLY, this guy is ******* thick sometimes. I got really disappointed with his decision-making and thought processes throughout several of the stories, but I suppose that's what the game is all about right?
#113 to #108 - brokentrucker (01/28/2013) [-]
Any of the feels I could have maybe possibly got, which I was potentially prepared for on the level of my first time reading that book about the kid who takes his dog on this cross country sled race and the dog dies just at the end, and the big indian guy helps carry the dog across the finish line for the kid. Wow that was something there....Anyway, I was like....12 or 13 and cried like a bitch in school when I finished the book. I was expecting something like that, and generally, Hisao's retardedly thick skull has me lolling through most of it.
User avatar #130 to #113 - angelmatvey (01/28/2013) [-]
Damn, I remember that book.
User avatar #118 to #113 - probablynaked (01/28/2013) [-]
I agree with that, most of the feels I got were on emi's run anyway, but that's only because it was so comparable to a relationship I actually had in highschool.
User avatar #104 - tkdftw (01/28/2013) [-]
The first time through I got Hanako's neutral ending, it's just as bad as her bad ending in my opinion.
#101 - destismad (01/28/2013) [-]
My first play-through of this (began about 11PM Eastern, Saturday....and...ended about 8 the next morning....) was great. I got the good ending for Emi (sex caught me off guard, was not aware of adult content) and I felt ******* great at the end, for a few seconds, then felt sad it was over. Since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about my own life, purpose, relationships, and beliefs. I'm quite sure I've began falling back into cycles of depression I dealt with regularly a few years back, and can't really focus on anything.

I think....this game might have really messed me up for a little bit. It was quite fun of course, but still, it's had a severely negative after-affect. I'm gonna have to stop getting on this site until this Kadawa Shoujo stuff stops.

Sorry for those of you who don't care, just kind of typed this without thinking, but I'm posting it anyways. I'll accept whatever thumbs I get, red, green, or none. Preferably none though, this really doesn't deserve thumbs either way.

The game is meant to make you think about your own life I think, that's what makes it so great. It's what you do with those feelings though that makes the difference. Each story is supposed to help you be a better you in the end (imo)
