The only way he was right was if he was feigning ignorance in the first statement and then saying to make a joke that was already said. If this was his intention, he failed at the delivery and if it was not his intention he failed at understanding the joke. Did I misunderstand? No apparently not.

...Actually, yes, you very much did misunderstand.

He was literally pointing out that the pun didn't work because he didn't actually use the word 'disabled,' and that the guy was trying so hard to copy the normal katawa-shoujo pun that he missed that 'turned off' would have worked just as well.

I mean, he very clearly said what kind of joke the guy should have made instead, meaning he understood there was a joke being made in the first place.

but the phrase "That are always disabled" only works if the setup ALSO includes the word "Disabled" otherwise it's just a non sequitur.

No, your being overly literal, that's not how jokes work. Disabled is a synonym of turned off in this context. "Non sequitur," is an untrue over exaggeration because it DOES logically make sense. Anyone who reads your statement and then the joke understands it and see's why it makes sense. Infact, had the setup used the word disabled, it would have been far to obvious not at all funny.
"You can disable the sex scenes."
"They're always disabled though."
It's not even my joke to begin with and the original is the exact same.

Inevitable "Yes" answer to anyone in a group of women you like saying they intend to **** after an activity is done. Why choose only one of them if they're chill with one another and you can love them all... :/ Of course this isn't the case though. I'd say any scenario in which you don't have to say no to all of the women in Katawa Shoujo but one is a good situation. One in which you can just, y'know, be happy with them all and have them all be happy with you. Cheating, unfortunately, is what that would be in this situation, as none of them get along with the idea of you practicing polygamy. Polygamy is weird...I'm trying it out right now in a personal relationship actually...it's going rather well. Two guys and one girl in the relationship and I cannot be happier.

This is an honest question here; I don't want to make enemies from asking this, but, what exactly is the fun behind visual novels? I tried Katawa Shoujo, Tsukihime, Fate/stay night, etc., but they just don't pull me in like they do everyone else. I couldn't stomach a majority of BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, despite enjoying the previous two entries in the series. I want to enjoy the genre, honest, but I feel like I'm missing out on the fun parts.

Well, to be honest the enjoyment in reading a visual novel is the story itself that it packs, it's pretty much like reading a normal novel or even watching a TV show, except that sometimes you have to make a decision which basically affects the ending to that certain story, some novels suits your taste and others don't, also, some people read visual novels because of the relationships that they want the characters to have in that VN, which can satisfy them especially if that VN comes from an anime that ended with the MC liking a girl that the viewer didn't like, so it really boils down to what you like.

And I assume that you played Phoenix Wright since you used this gif of Pearl Fey, I played this game for the thrills and the twists that the story has, and that's pretty much what I like in a VN.

YOU WHAT?!

Nah man, it's fine. I enjoy them because they're....unique. Kind of a choose-your-own-adventure, but there's usually a "right" way to do it (a la Fate/Stay Night) or a "good" way to do it (a la KS).

The stories are -typically- well done, even if they have fluff, they often drive home a point. Such as the Unlimited Blade Works route of Fate.Stay Night, which is basically to put everything you have into your goals, to follow your beliefs and never regret your actions if they are motivated by the desire to do good.

Honest answer? Honest answer:

It just doesn´t float your boat.

Really, don´t try to force-like something. Try some short ones and after a little time try to read longer ones (maybe this will help?)

It´s the same with albums.

I remember when I wasn´t quite fond of listening to Metallica´s "Load" and "Re-Load" albums, but after hearing them time after time they grew on me.

Good luck, potential VN bro!

I only started playing it because one of my friends jokingly recommended it to me and I downloaded it and he watched me play it through skype screen sharing and then I eventually came up with an excuse to pretty much isolate myself by leaving the call and I just kept playing. I'm going to see if I can make it to 100% completion although that does mean I will have to get the death and kenji path apparently. Which the latter will be uninteresting and the prior will probably make me want to die. so I'm not sure if I'd want to do it.

Its not as bad as all that. Yes, Hisao will die in the "Kenji End" but none, and I mean NONE of the bad endings in the version you are playing will ever equal the bad ends in the Alpha release- before it was made tamer and less-dark. Even Shizune's GOOD end involved a death. Be strong, my friend. 100% is worth it to know the whole story.

Pic related, concept sketch I did for the Alpha rebuild on KSG and Steam under the pseudonym "Dong". I think the project has been scrapped, but real-world issues got in the way so I couldn't devote as much time to the project so I left.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm sure that I'll be able to get through the bad endings but the question is, should I get the bad ends first or try to get every good end?
It's the grand question of "would you liked to have your heart ripped out first or last, sir?" it's not going to be the most fun but knowing that I'm trying to complete it is pretty fun as I am pretty much just reading multiple stories that are an intricate web that hooks to the other stories but they are never sequels or prequels. The worst thing is, the ending that I've gotten already were pretty abrupt with some resolve, but just like a good book it doesn't reveal everything down the line and forces me to guess. I'm glad that I found this though. It's pretty thought provoking to me.

In my opinion, I say get the bad endings first. The good endings afterwards act as kind of a balm for the ache you might feel from "failing her".
It truly got me to think critically of my actions in the real world- having a dramatic interpretation of "Every action bears a consequence" makes you understand that even the seemingly small choices matter and you should do your utmost to live life in a way you won't regret. My first playthrough was Emi's arc, and I got her good end using choices I would normally make as a person. From there, I used a walkthrough (as is my way with VN's) to get the all of the endings. Of them all, Lilly's and Shizune's stood out as equally best to me. Shizune is the least favorite of the community, however- having seen WHY her route became so bland, and having played her original story... I can't help but feel a resonance with her character. Lilly is the other side of that coin- I feel only a fleeting connection to her, but she embodies an aspect of me I wish I could improve upon. Anyways, good luck and godspeed shreddednation.
