America: people living in a land that isn't theirs, yet people are very patriotic.

Pretty accurate, they just missed the part where the Canadian borders change due to the latitude lines (it didn't always used to be the way it is now)

I'd ask at what point we were declared a nation, but as an American citizen, I TOTALLY already know that. Hell, I just wanna see if anyone else knows.

1776 we declared independence. 1783 the Revolutionary War ended. I prefer to say we weren't a nation until 1783, based on the following logic.

Imagine some small town out in... Let's go with Idaho. Imagine a small town in Idaho decided, "Hey, let's declare that we are independent from the U.S.!"

At first, everyone else would be like "Oh, **** , anarchy in Idaho," but eventually, it would die down due to the place being a small town, if left alone.

I know the Colonies weren't just one small town, but it could have potentially been a similar case all the same.
