Well it's not like they were ripping them off vets to give to animals.
Presumably, there's a lot that can be learned in terms of motion mechanics by making prostheses for other species. Furthermore, considering how endangered many of those species are, even saving one is important.

for a site that believes in evolution, species dieing off is part of natural selection and should happen.

Evolution can take hundreds of thousands of years. We've been changing the planet radically in just centuries, and a lot of species can't handle that change. We're sentient enough to know we're causing a problem, so it's our responsibility to deal with that, not just say "Well they couldn't deal with us ******* them over, that's their own fault."

Even without the altruistic argument, we're one of the species that has to keep living on this planet. If we mess **** up too much we'll ruin it for ourselves as well.

Since we managed to grow an extinct variety of frog (we killed it before it had fully developed but we did clone it so thats what Im getting at!) the extinction of species no longer has to happen with a few more years of research we could potentially begin cataloging and recreating species that have died out since our industrial age. Im not saying youre wrong here Im just saying that science may have advanced far enough in the next 20 years to prevent the extinction of species so long as we continue our research into it... I think thats pretty neat

I guess you missed that last part about us not ******* up the planet because we have to live here, not just the animals.
Sooo, I'm just gonna read your comments in the voice of an embittered old man and offer you a dirty hippy hug.

No that bit. Animals, including people, die everyday so that's not the issue. But quite literally every other single thing you said was so unbelievably ignorant and wrong, you should take your knowledge to heart and remove yourself from the gene pool. No need for suicide, just a pair of hedge clippers to the balls.
