I honestly don't get this hate for the show at all, i see a lot of worse shows that is just plainly hard to watch (the anger management tv series is one of those that are so dumbed down that i would see why people would bash on it).
Please enlighten me.

It's a show about smart people and nerds targeted at dumb people.

For instance:

In one episode Sheldon is playing Dungeons and Dragons.

...That's the joke. Seriously.

Because people feel the need to hate on whatever is mainstream and popular rather than on what deserves their hate the most.

I.E. Bieber. Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't think he's a good guy by any stretch of the imagination. But with people like dictators and big oil CEOs, I'm sure there are a LOT of people more deserving of obsession-level hatred than him. However, the hate isn't about what's actually bad, just what's popular that they have a mild dislike for.

now its not super popular anymore and nobody ever talks about it except for in rare hate posts like this

The thing that upsets me about it is that it proclaims to be nerdy, however it isn't really nerdy, it's somewhat intelligent concepts dumbed down so much that the average user can watch it and understand, then they talk about what big nerds they are because they watch the big bang theory, meanwhile they're dumb as ****.

- "Sheldon, what are you doing?" "Playing Zork." [Audience cannot control their laughter]
- While I applaud how scientifically accurate the show is, it actually lacks a lot of detail and accuracy when it comes to the gaming parts; > There's a part where they're playing Halo, and the sounds coming from the TV are Halo, but the words coming out of their mouths sound so ******* fake and almost Call of Duty-esque.> At one point they are playing Dungeons and Dragons, and the entire party is killed by one single trap, but nobody is allowed to roll any saving throws, or anything, it's just "nope, you're dead". If DND were like that nobody would play it.> There's a part where he is playing Zork and he isn't drawing a map. Who does that?
- The audience may be live, but that doesn't mean they aren't told when to laugh.
- If they aren't told when to laugh, they must be pretty ******* autistic. The only person I know who laughs as often as those people is Ricky Gervais, and that's because Karl Pilkington is mental.
- The show isn't really about being nerdy at all now. It's more about the relationships between the girls and the guys. I get it, every show's gotta progress, but I feel it's changed from laughing at people being nerdy to laughing at people with numb social skills. When's the last time Wolowitz made anyone laugh by being nerdy? He has many a quip and a one-liner, but almost every joke in the series is about his mom.
- The show is treated as a masterpiece, because it filled a niche in the market that no other sitcom managed to do; dork comedy. It's similar to praising Call of Duty for being the best FPS, when in reality it was just the first multiplayer online FPS to not suck enough to go mainstream.
- It's not very funny. I laugh maybe once or twice per episode. A couple of times it has had me rolling. Most of the time it's just something to put on.
- The love triangle between Raj, Berni and Howard is ******* weird and I don't really know why it exists.

I personally take issue with the amount of people who seem to think the show itself is intelligent, when in fact it's pretty much as intelligent as Two and a Half Men, but with big words.

Basically, it's watched by people who can't differentiate between an intelligent show and a dumb show which focuses on intelligent people.

ITT: A bunch of neckbeards screeching about how the mean gamer girls are trying to understand them.

Seriously, the show isn't that funny, but seeing people use it as an excuse to bitch about "wannabe nerds" pisses me off. If people want to be nerds, ******* let them. It isn't any skin off my dick if some stacked chick with bleach-blond hair makes a Star Trek reference. Believe it or not, being a ******* loser does not grant you a lien on all things "nerdy".

Honestly, as a nerd who reads **** like Warhammer and Wheel of Time, and who once spent 60+ hours out of a single week playing Fallout, I can safely say that any of you who bitch about "fake gamer girls" are just pathetic losers getting butthurt that people who are better than you in every other way are trying to edge in on the one area in which you can claim superiority.

We get it. Sheldon is mean, the rest are nerds and Penny is hot. We get it. We got that during the first episode. Can we move on or are we going to crack the same joke that was hardly funny the first time?

Because that is totally not the recipe for every single sitcom that has, does, and will ever exist. I can say the exact same thing about How I met your mother, Modern Family, South Park, The Simpsons and just about every other comedy show. That's how a show is made; you make a character, give them a personality, and don't ever change it.

I don't like the show, but claiming it's generic is just priceless. It just shows how it is your typical sitcom.

Well, personally, I used to watch it for a while, but after some time I just kinda felt nauseated everytime I saw it. I just didn't find it funny at all anymore (now I don't really even understand how I ever could), and the pre-recorded laugh just somehow made it even worse. Most of the jokes in the show just feel way too forced and overdone.

The main reason i hate it is the way they treat Sheldon (not just the characters but the writers). He is clearly autistic or at least have some form of aspergers and they laugh at how he seems like a dick when really its just the only way he can communicate with anyone. The writes also keep putting him situations where he can only be a dick to people because its "funny". I know people with actual autism (not MLP/M'lady ******** autism) and they aren't dicks they just don't think emotionally for the most part.
TL;DR The writers make fun of metal illness.

I've known aspergers people who were way worse than how they portray sheldon. So far gone they can't admit you're right even if there life was on the line. People who are a Dick in every possible social situation because they see themselves as perfection and know no other way to act.
Sheldon doesn't have autism or aspergers. Just OCD and most likely ADHD.

The show got quite stale in my opinion only after the first or second season. As a show, it's watchable and is light entertainment - but it is hyped up to a point where people see it as the best thing on T.V.
Another thing is how in the earlier seasons there were real jokes about somethings that one had to understand the reference to to understand. Now all they do is reference something and explain every joke. It's almost like how Family guy went from references with some form of joke to just references.
The laugh track is also off putting. It's being used more and more - and is now used after every other line in the show.
And then there is the fanbase, not all of them - but a large proportion. As with any show, the majority of fans can be a bit extreme, but the large part of said fanbase is made of of "Gamer Girls" who want to be "random" and "nerdy", who watch the show - and then quote from it, acting as if they understood the reference all along.
But yes, there are MUCH worse shows on T.V (Anger Management is awful, Two and a Half Men has gone down the *******) but those shows have almost gotten to a point where the show is so bad, it's being written to be bad, and the writers had given up.
TL-DR? Big Bang Theory is no longer clever, is rather stale and is overhyped, although it is light entertainment. If it's on T.V, and nothing else is on - I'll watch it.
But that is just my opinion, but also the opinion of MANY others. But, in all honesty I can see why people watch it. I just thought the picture was funny.
Thanks for reading.

Friends was good in short bursts, it was entertaining but only for like 2 or 3 episodes at a time. Some people can sit down and watch all ten seasons in like 5 days. So YMMV.

The "laugh track" is a real audience.

It's overhyped and have a bad fanbase? You do know you're on funnyjunk right? The home of overly sexualized animes with no real plot with the fanbase hating on everything else that has any simmilar things.

I find the following shows to be the antithesis of humor:

1. How I Met Your Mother
2. Pretty much anything on TBS
3. Pretty much anything on FOX
4. Unless there's an outstanding host, SNL has become dangerously unfunny
5. The Big Bang Theory

I am read for your hate.

let me see if can make you understand. He said anything on FOX, you said futurama was on FOX so therefore- based on what he said- its a bad show (which it isnt and you both know this and I assume that this is why you mentioned futurama, to invalidate his argument) then he pointed out that Futurama is no longer shown there, so it isnt on his list of bad shows.

TLDR: futurama is still good and his list is still "valid" because futurama isnt on fox

It's not a laugh track; it's in front of a studio audience. They showed it in a "behind the scenes" episode.

They just need to tone them down a little. They are a little loud like they are trying to force it on you. But yea, it's a decent show imo

Complain about "The Big Bang Theory" then goes and watches anime with nothing but overly sexualized jokes and the same **** in every episode. Atleast "The big Bang Theory" is scientificly accurate.
