So ... someone on steam kindly game me RPG Maker 2003 and RPG Maker XP. I have no idea how to even use these things. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?
******* hell, RPG maker was my childhood. Legion Saga and other jrpgs mad in it, countless hours in front of a backwater 1998 pc.
Look for the tutorials, download some sample games, maybe make a rpg of your own. Guess it won't be as fun for you as it was for me back in the day, but who knows.
I don't know the technical stuff ... but I'm considering a game where it beings with what seems to be a JRPG style boss fight with an evil sorceress queen. You win, and then you fast forward to years later. You're the new king, with great power, magically, physically, and politically. By dumb luck, you come across a strangely beautiful young woman who doesn't speak, and mostly communicates through a chalk board tablet. She might be literally autistic? Your character become obsessed with this strange woman, and the game turns into a weird psychological horror.
Nothing impossible, then. You could do that with just basic knowledge of the program. I'm sure there's a lot of tutorials to help you out, anyway. Still, I'd recommend playing some games made in it first, just to see what the program is capable of and to gather some inspiration.
I tried doing some games of my own in RPG Maker, but I was 12-13 at the time, so I had no patience to make anything serious and working.

1) I like match three games for some reason.
2) I think the dialogue is funny.
3) I enjoy the fact that it's a Western game with anime inspired images.
4) The characters are entertaining to me.
5) I want to play it with my boyfriend to see his reaction to it. I love watching people react to things.
6) I'm a grown ass woman, and if I want a dating simulation/comedy/match three game ... why should I not enjoy it?
