Non linear fiction writing

Came across this while stumbling, good insight to his writing style.

You read that certain kind of fiction
where the guy will always get the girl
and the good guys win and it
reaffirms to you that life is fair. '
We all want that at times.
There' s a certain vicarious release to that.
But that' s not the kind of citation I write, in most cases.
It' s certainty not what Ice and Fire is. i'
I It tries to be mere realistic what we is.
l It has joy, but it also had pain and fear,.
I think the best fiction captures life in" all its sight semidarkness,"

That's why I love Tarantino movies; you never know what's going to happen next. In a regular movie, if someone's going to die they're going to die heroically and at the end. In a Tarantino movie anyone could just get their head blown off half way into the movie. It keeps the suspense up.

Question for those who are into the series:
(Some SPOILERS possibly)

When Rob agreed to marry one of Frey's daughters, it was said that he would also have Walder's men except for about 400 to defend the twins. Yet, later on in the series, Rob says that he needs Walder Frey's men in order to take Casterly Rock, but as said, he already HAD a majority of Walder's men. Why in the hell did he have to go back to the Twins to get the men he already had?

Unless I'm wrong, someone inform me please.

Game of Thrones seemed like it was trying too hard to be edgy, like The Witcher. I couldn't take it seriously.
