After the first season had finished filming, the dogs playing the direwolves were offered to the actors who played their owners. Sophie Turner took Zunni, the dog who played Sansa’s direwolf, Lady. Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran) wanted to take the dog that played Summer but his family already had 2 dogs.

Natalie Dormer auditioned for a different role before being offered the part of Margaery Tyrell. Until the show ends, she is refusing to say which character she originally auditioned for.
