I think that Jon is the Child of Raegar and Lyanne Stark. Raegar Lyanne because he wanted a child. And before Lyanne died she asked Ned to promise to raise the child as his own, and Good old thrustworthy ned couldn't say no. And think about it, the last thing Lyanne said was: Promise me, Ned.

I agree.

Why was there so much blood on her bed when she died? Sounds like a death from childbirth

i think knowing that, we can assume that the entire story will end up being jon snows story and the title of the series kinda shows that. "a song of ice and fire" is the story of jon targaryen-stark. since targaryens being fire and starks being ice. im not sure if i explained this properly, im half asleep typing this

I agree, which is quite amusing really because it means that despite living his entire life believing he is a bastard he is in fact the legitimate Targaryen heir to the Iron Throne.

I'm a little worried though that the tv series will mean that Martin decides to abandon some of these possible conspiracy theories, at this point in the show they've not really laid a lot of the ground work for the Jon Targaryen theory (Dany's dream, Ned's promise to Lyanna).

I'm also still holding onto hope though that Jaqen H'ghar is Syrio Forel.

he's not going to change anything on account to the T.V. series, in the same way fans have no influence on what happens. as he said in an interview, he has his story to tell, and he's not changing it for others.

I don't think so, I'd expect a son of Rhaegar to be blood of the dragon and Jon clearly isn't... his hand got burned.

Why is there so much stuff underlined?

Also, in one of the episodes does she not mention how she promised to love the bastard as she would her own, but never managed to keep the promise. And If i remember correctly, she was talking about feelings and **** about when she first discovered that Ned would rather a one night stand than his wife.

you're thinking of Catelyn. Lyanna Stark is Eddard's sister, Rhaegar was heir to the Iron Throne until the rebellion, When Robert killed him at the battle of the trident, Jaime killed the Mad King, the throne went to Robert, etc, etc.
Rhaegar allegedly kidnapped Lyanna, whom Robert was in love with, and Robert believed Rhaegar was raping her while he kept her hostage.

He didn't spoil anything, that's just a theory about Jon's origins.
