"Life isn't fair"

Funny, but the only times I've ever hear this used is when someone doesn't want someone else to retaliate from being fucked over.

"I work twice as many hours and never recieve any complaints, why didn't I get the promotion?"
"Life isn't fair."

Bill Gates did not say this.

Some points (and perhaps improvements) I would like to make on the list

1. Life is actually fair, you get EXACTLY what you work for, nothing more and nothing less, one way or another.

2. This is true, but if people are unable to feel good without the support of others, chances are they won't be getting far anyways.

3. There are plenty of opportunities and plenty of reasons for exactly why you COULD make that money right out of highschool. There are people less intelligent, less talented, and less capable than you getting rich all the time, why aren't you one of them?

4. A good boss is not tough because good employee's are competent.

5. It's true that it may not be beneath your dignity, but it may just not be for you. It's better to have a job you love that does very little for you than a job you hate that does much, and all the opportunities in the world will not count for shit if you do not enjoy them.

6. True.

7. Also true, people need to respect their fucking elders and realize that everyone thought they were hot shit when they were younger.

8. This is changing very rapidly; due to the Affirmative Action movement, many people are able to get away with things just because of circumstances they cannot control (gender, ethnic background, creed, ect.) and if you complain you are branded an antagonist

9. You do get months and sometimes even half a year off depending upon your job, actually. Just as well, if you actually need to 'find yourself', you're not going Finding yourself implies that there is a hidden part within you that will validate you, when the truth is that what you see in the mirror is what you are, and if you do not like it, you better work your ass off to change it.

10. Television is mostly made up of reality shows now, actually; some people's job is actually just to go outside and be an idiot.

11. You should be nice to everyone who deserves it, actually; because you're a decent fucking human being.

1. Then no asshole / someone disliking and putting you at disadvantages was ever in a position of authority to you. That's the situation i pictured when reading life would be unfair.
2. I agree.
3. I would add something else to this: It is hard work, discipline and a good, maybe rare chance of luck that is necessary for that. Speaking of which, i think there was some meme about "dragon killin" .... you may be wise, talented, etc., the one to suceed is the determinated .... I have some content on that I will add. Hmm, this post will have it already.
4. Never got holiday denied because you're needed? Never made mistakes? Bosses don't approve like teachers do.
5. Having your own income generates independence and you learn about responsibility, maybe view it like that.
8. That's the lazy coward way you critzise. To be truely successful, you have to give it all all the time.
9. You need to be extremely competent or a very liberal corporal management that allows a leave.
11. Agree

"Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity"

What if I'm a 30 year old person, and I'm intelligent, but nobody gave me any chances in life because "life isn't fair"? What if i'm an immigrant with a degree in medicine, but i'm working at Mcdonald's? Fuck this. He's just supporting this idea that a "dog eat dog world" is a good world.

We have a name for immigrants with engineering degrees. We call them "engineers"

I'm mean to almost all of the nerds at my school because they're all stuck up cocky bastards
User avatar #72 to #52 - allhailshrek (09/18/2013) [-]
I'm really only mean to the kids who actively call themselves "nerds". Most of them are stuck up assholes/bitches who think they're better than everyone else because of the whole "nerds will rule the world" quote that's been floating around. They like to think that because I'm in NJROTC that I'm automatically a loser and stupid, even though I get similar grades to them (with the same advanced classes).

I doubt bill gates actually said this.

This made me think.. So i'm going to post some of the rules i live my life by. As an anon so as not to appear a pretentious d-bag.
1. Success means something different for everyone, respect that.
2. Be kind to everyone, but never let yourself get walked over.
3. If you have access to a warm shower and a hot meal, life is good. No exceptions.
4. Never discriminate. No exceptions.
5. Appreciate what you have, but never settle.
6. Science and technology are god damn amazing. No exceptions.
7. Respect the beliefs of others, unless that belief endagers others.
In conclusion i believe life is absolutely brilliant and in the true meaning of the word awesome. While it is full of pain and sorrow, these days we are too quick to forget all the happiness, joy and beauty that also surround us.
I don't know.. i might be completely and utterly wrong, but this is just what i believe.

We need to stop coddling children and lowering the bar. All we're doing is making the unintelligent people less intelligent and dooming the intelligent because they stop paying attention when their middleschool math teacher is teaching them elementary level shit. School should be less like Skyrim on novice mode and more like Dark Souls.

"Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity."

Oh yeah? Was that your saying before or after you made enough money to retire at 30. I bet everyone would live a successful life and make enough money to support their family if they just settled with a minimum wage job and didn't try to better themselves.
