Can any Canadians answer his question? I'm still confused how you use bagged milk, and why it wouldn't just come in a container.

I realize there are two languages in Canada, so I will translate for those Canadians who are poor at English.

"Sorreh bout this question eh? But me moose and I were coonting the alphabet from A to Zed while drinking beers on our snowplow eh and right when we got to our ice hockey game, eh? We had to buy some maple syrup for a snack with all our free healthcare money eh so we bought a syrup bag and it spilled everywhere, eh? So we were wonderin why you hosers don't just sell it in a container, eh? Again, sorreh aboot the question, didn't mean to waste your time, sorreh.

i am not canadian, i live in Southern California. But...
Back when i was in high school We had bagged milk. you literally take a straw and punch a hole in the bag.
Sure sometimes it would go all the way through or explode.

there are also better containers that clasp shut on the bag then pierce it with a spike, and have a resealable cap so you lose none of the functionality of a bottle.

I do not understand what is so hard about getting the concept of bagged milk. Like pretty much any other substance it can be bagged. Bags are easier and cheaper to produce, way less plastic is used for their production, they can be recycled etc. For those reasons bagged milk is usually cheaper by a fair amount than bottled (or in cartons) counterparts. Some bags have small bottle-like necks with caps for ease of pouring the milk.

All that being said i still prefer buying milk directly from farms whenever possible, because compared to it the milk in the stores feels like coloured water. When i was growing up in the countryside we had sheep/cows and i grew up with real dairy products (milk, yoghurt, cheese etc.) And 90%+ of those in stores and big markets just can not compare.
