Skull wood-burning coffee table
I did this as an xmas gift for 2 friends who didn't have a coffee table. Here is the original table, which I bought at a thrift store for $7.54. I forgot to take a photo before I started, but I did remember shortly after beginning to sand the previous finish and stain. This is pretty much what it looked like.

Finished burning. Time for stain!

First layer of stain. This part always makes me nervous, because I'm never exactly sure how the stain will look on an unknown wood type with the burning. But I'm happy with how this one turned out. Ended up going darker with the background.

After a few more layers of stain, and beginning to clear coat. The lamplight in this photo distorts the true colors a bit.

Also found some knobs online that I thought would go well, and to replace the broken ones the table came with.
