Clips before addy is mentioned are all from Kingdom of heaven, the clips with the shirtless guys are 300: rise of an empire, the clips with Russel Crowe/ Roman army is Gladiator, cavalry charge is Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
Do you have the video that was posted some time ago (couple years) of the titanic sinking with a bunch of different usernames crudely pasted over the actors in the video?
1. Be obnoxious a few times, be weird or awkward while simultaneously being consistently funny.
2. Have a theme or face. Usually on your profile picture, have a profile picture so people can "put a face to a name". Theme accounts are the extreme example of this.
3. Try to get top comment on every post you see, this is easiest in the newest uploads where there isn't much people to pay attention to. And when you just 10 thumbs, you'll probably get 200 eventually, unless it's an opinion. Because most FJ thumbers don't think very hard about what they thumb.
4. Use pictures with your comments frequently, especially if it makes your face and theme more recognizable, also makes your comments more easily seen to be thumbed. The contrast of the large picture to a few sentences of your comment, or just one sentence, naturally makes people not instantly go "TL;DR".
That's most of the things I can think of, anyone else think of anything?
**spartantoaster used "*roll picture*"** **spartantoaster rolled image**damn fine roll but can it eat these dubs?**spartantoaster used "*roll 1, 1-1000000*"** **spartantoaster rolls 0,373,477**
remember when admin was an asshole and people got banned for anything? especially the dickbutt incidents? or remember when admin got banned twice because we always thumbed down his comments and you still got auto-banned for having too many red thumbs?
My old account got banned permanently for dickbutt apocalypse by admin himself RIP Percin That was when I was a ******* brony though **** that Though I wish I would have as dark a name as that account would
That's just it though... NONE of us really know how we ended up here. You just get on your computer one day, and the next thing you know you've been here for five years.
Comparative to other Social media sites, I think Funnyjunk is pretty damn great.
4Chan is just 4Chan, Facebook is full of idiots and attention whores, Instagram is full of lunch and attention whores, Twitter is only good for black tweets, 9Gag is full of 12 year olds and ruins everything by spamming it it to oblivion, Imgur is ok I guess, but Funnyjunk is home to me, where everyone is an equal faggot.
well i never said it's bad, it's the best online community i've found in years, i just keep hearing how it used to be more popular and i just have troubles imagining it because nobody i know ever heard about this site.
No, they're right. I don't know if you were here for when the server shut down, but we lost a decent amount of our viewerbase then, and I don't think we completely recovered. The site still gets a lot of traffic and a lot of new views, and it's certainly growing, but it's like the dark ages in Europe: it's going to take time to fix completely.
I have a similar experience, i looked at a funny picture, clicked "view image" on google images, but FJ being FJ decided to take me to FJ instead of letting me see the full image, and i lurked for a year till i made an account wish i would've made one earlier
after you've been here for a few years you can see it. People may act like assholes a lot of the time but a lot of users are actually nice and caring when it comes down to it.
People here are pretty amicable, even without maintaining complete anonymity. On sites like Facebook, Tumblr, or Reddit I have to actively censor myself or get alienated and harassed. On here I could say anything from "Gas the kikes race war now!" to "I believe the white man is an inferior being" and so long as it wasn't pointless trolling I would probably just get called a faggot and thumbed up.
Also, people here are *******smart. Almost no one ever runs their mouth without at least having a basic understanding of what they're talking about, and when confronted with facts that disprove their points they don't get pissy and blow up your inbox, they'll at worst just leave or block you, and let's be honest: if someone isn't willing to change their opinion when proved wrong, do you really want to talk to them?
**itskennyandjosh used "*roll picture*"** **itskennyandjosh rolled image**One thing i don't understand, if he has off vision, how can he be so accurate?
His eyes are fine. It was just drawn that way for the effect.
They'd say something like 'oh, my, what a cute little thing.' and then they'd shoot a close-up shot to show how nasty it was. Like this scene from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.
