Alright, I have a theory. Back in ancient Greece it was in vogue to have a smaller or average sized penis, thus the way their statues are portrayed. That was considered to be perfection. Today, everyone wants to have larger penises, and women want men to have them. So here's my theory, since women typically have a lesser sex drive than men, I don't think they care about penis size at all on their own. I think men convince women from an adolescent age that they should care about penis size in an attempt to make them more sexually active. The girls then tell their friends and the cycle continues. I'm sure the same thing happened in Greece but with the image of smaller penises in mind.

No one could have seen that coming.

Pretty much.

Oh, and since this accusation has already been made, I'll make another point. If a guy made a comic making fun of girls with small boobs, he would be called a douche. Know why? Because he was a douche. The same goes for girls. Make fun of people's personalities all you want, that doesn't matter, but making fun of someone's body is just cruel. Everyone is insecure about their own body, because they see it in an extremely scrutinizing way that no one else can. If you were to call some girl ugly or make fun of her body or anything like that you honestly deserve to be beaten by anyone nearby. Why isn't the reverse considered just as bad? Men aren't insecure about anything? Of course not, none of us are. We're all tough and think we're perfect.

Oh that wasn't directed toward you. You logged off. I just figured that was a good place to make my second comment. You did not offend me.

Well, if we were to be like that there´d be no humor. Cus pretty much nothing would be "ok" to joke about. It´s totally ok to make fat jokes, and there´s plenty of them. It´s not ok to single someone out like " My ex boyfriend james was *harsh word harsh word*" but small penis jokes in general isn´t worse then anything else out there. Just more sensitive for guys.
User avatar #270 to #268 - thepyras (11/15/2012) [-]
Well that's not true. There's plenty of humor without making a joke that'll make some insecure 15 year old sad.

If people can't laugh at themselves they probably aren't gonna laugh at anything.
If we suddenly weren't allowed to make jokes that could offend people, comedians would all be out of jobs.
User avatar #290 to #288 - thepyras (11/15/2012) [-]
That also is not true. I'm not saying no one is allowed to make jokes that won't offend people, but people's bodies are something that they cannot change, or can end up going to foolish lengths to, and making fun of them is more than a bit douchey.

>People's bodies are something that they cannot change
Bull shit.
I was 200 pounds back in June. Over the course of the last 5 months I've gone down to 170 JUST by riding my bike. That's not "foolish lengths", that's just regular exercise.

People who actually have hereditary problems that make them obese or super skinny, that's different, but most people aren't like that. Most people are just lazy and let themselves get out of shape. Saying that people can't change their bodies is incredibly ignorant, and you're just contributing to the mindset that it is okay for people to simply be lazy and get fat. Yeah, it's their choice, but that doesn't mean that we can't criticize them for that choice. It's the same reason we criticize cigarette smokers: because it is not healthy.

I wasn't talking about weight, obviously. I'm talking more about facial structure or size of some body parts.
I am anorexic you see, so I myself have lost weight, went to foolish lengths to do it, too. Got hideously underweight. I've never been able to really stand the way I look, but some people think I'm attractive, so I look for constant reaffirmation from them. Everything went very downhill when a girl I liked in high school kind of implied that I was fat. I don't blame her, it isn't her fault at all, there's no way she could have known. Still, never disregard the effect your words can have on a susceptible young person.

Well if people can't handle hearing a little criticism, then they should find a new life.

Nobody goes through life without being criticized about something. Just because you or other people can't take it when someone gives it to you, doesn't mean that people need to censor themselves so they don't hurt your feelings.

Nowadays, with the advancement of medical technology and surgery, almost any physical deformity can be fixed.

One comedian I particularly like said "If we can type 'u r a dumb ass lol' and all the world's mind-men just take a swan dive off the cliff of dumb fuck then LET EM DO IT!"
Granted, this was in reference to Cyber bullies, but I think the point still applies. Just replace "dumb" with "fat".

And seriously, you don't think plastic surgery is something that shouldn't be encouraged? For fixing deformities or rebuilding from injuries that's just fine, but why encourage little Suzie to get bigger boobs?

For the last time, the conversation was not about fat people. Fine, say that, whatever. It's a free world and people should be allowed to say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they should always say it. You can walk up to a grown woman and tell her she's ugly right now. No one's gonna take you to jail, and she, as a functioning adult, should be able to handle it. That doesn't make you any less of a dick for doing it.
In short, no one should be censored, but people should censor themselves. It saves a lot of people a lot of heartache.
